Goat vs ballista
The morning of travelling towards the dungeon Jessica looked at her stats. She was happy but was not near Aron's stats, she wanted an upgrade as well. Deep down she knew Aron could even improve faster if he wanted to but he was having fun with managing the town with Yue. Now let's check again and see what I need to improve Jessica thought.

I need to focus more on my skills, [boost] is a good skill to buff everyone for 4 hours and it buffs all my team members health mana and defence, still I need a skill that can boost damage as well. Now deep in thought walking towards the stables Jessica was feeling conflicted, the last two groups of refugees where completely different. One group had hope and the other didn't, could it be that there was a stronger enemy out there than the goats? For sure it should be because on earth they had dungeons until level 50, so far we only have level 1 and level 2 dungeons.
Kim: Jessica are you oke?
Jessica: hmm, sorry I was thinking about something.
Kim: Don't worry, we all are thinking about stuff. Perhaps I can help you?
Jessica: We are doing dungeons all the time but we haven't seen levels above level 2 dungeons. I'm sure we are missing something.
Kim: Now that you saying that, it is indeed strange. We should discuss this after we cleared the dungeon, I'm sure we can find an answer.
Kim could tell Jessica was thinking about something else as well, this girl was young but could think about things she shouldn't at her age. That was for almost all of them, a group of kids between the age of 12 and 16 was leading an army of hunters into a dungeon, Kim couldn't help but laugh at it. Sure they lived more than 310 years, most of it was sleeping though. That shouldn't make a difference, Chloe just got dragged into the madness of the youngsters and adapted quickly. Kim now deep in thought was woken out of it by Aron.
Aron: OK, let's go. We need to reach the dungeon before the after noon and start cleaning the surroundings.
With that the trip towards the dungeon started, only a few people staying in Yama Shi. Anne who wanted to join the hunting team was still crying in town and mad at Yue, Yue told her she could join the level one dungeons but the level 2 dungeons not before she turned 12 years.
After 6 hours of travelling every could see the gate of the dungeon, the gate was open and everyone could see goats going in and out. The gate itself was 6 meters high and 10 meters wide, the could see the inside of the dungeon already. The ballista might only be useful at the start, as far as they could see it was a rough rocky landscape with hills all around. Moving large objects inside would be a problem, of course they could use the spatial bags but the larger the object the longer it took to put it in or get it out.
Jessica: Let's make camp here, I would say let everyone rest for a bit and then start cleaning the surroundings.
Jack: You did hear Jessica, let's setup camp fast.
After setting up camp they started clearing the surroundings of the dungeons, everyone noticed the difference between being level 20 and now being level 30 with upgraded skills. The guard now could hold two goats reducing the stress on the healers and Jack and Aron. 5 hours later they cleared most of the goats around, the only issue was they goats now knowing that they were being hunted. No goat was leaving the dungeon anymore and now all goats looking at the camp of the humans.
Daisy and Kim now getting their spatial bags and both pulling out 20 ballista, setting them up didn't take that long. Now it was arming them the asked a few people to help them, now on the ground they had 600 ballista bolts with a cloth dipped in mammoth fat around it. Daisy now making a small fire dipped a few of the bolts in it and passed them around, now that the ballista was loaded and set to the dungeon entrance Kim gave the order to shoot.
The fire descending on the goats, the goats now seeing the bolts coming but before some of them got away the bolts hit them. All of the bolts penetrated 15 goats all setting them on fire or heavily injured, the goats on fire did run to other goats leaving a chaotic scenery.
Now it was for sure none of the goats dared to get close to the gate, it had been a long time ago since they felt this. The past invaders of the dungeon wat 20 years ago and only some higher level goats were around back then, the dungeon boss looking at the chaos from the top of a hill knew it would be a hard fight. The invaders seemed to prepared and didn't have any weakness so far he could see. This made the dungeon boss excited, it was a while ago when someone challenged him. He might lose a lot of his dungeon but it was worth it to fight a good battle he thought.
Jessica's team on the other side did get a lot of energy, they wanted to go in but they didn't because it was close to dinner time and after half a day of travelling and killing it was most of the important work done. The next morning they would start bright and fresh.
Jessica: Can two sentrys stay op and watch the dungeon entrance? That way the most of us can sleep.
Nik's sentry teambwas not happy, it had to be done and to let almost everyone sleep it was best to let the sertys do the night watch. During the watch they only.shot a few bolts with the ballista and killing and wounding a few goats in the process.
On the other side of camp Jessica was making her quests, she wanted to get ad much as possible out of the dungeon.

That last quest shocked Jessica, deads was something they didn't see in any dungeon so farm. They always played it safe, she didn't know what to do tell everyone or not to tell. If they had deads this time she thought people would be mad at them because they promised safety for everyone. Kim walking in the tent saw Jessica struggling with something again.
Kim: Jessica what is the matter?
Jessica: I will share you the quest...
Kim feeling conflicted straight away after reading the quest, she was a healer and if someone died she would be partially at fault. How could she not be silent after that, Jessica now seeing Kim struggling as well started talking what to see if Kim came back to earth so to speak and not being spaced out thinking.
Jessica: I think we should get Aron and Jack.
Kim: Your right, I will get Chloe, Daisy and Sophie can you get Aron?
They went to get the others when they were all together Jessica shared the quest. Aron reading the quest wasn't showing anything, this surprise Jessica and Kim. The rest had a reaction but not as big as they thought they would get.
Aron: Less than 20 deads so zero deads would do. Seems we need to be careful do you all agree?
Daisy: Yes, should be possible.
Sophie: What if there are people in the dungeon and they die? Would that influence our quest?
Jack: Hard to tell but I wouldn't share this quest to the other people, perhaps I will share it with Ricky. The rest should just help us clear the dungeon without any worries.
Jessica: So none of you are scared or anything?
Daisy: Not really, means we need to be careful. Have a guard on all sides of out formation and don't split up in smaller teams although it might be easy.
Aron: Well sad, I was thinking the same. I will take the back guard position because I can still do damage from there. For the rest it would be harder, Jack what do think.
They kept on talking strategy for over two hours before finally going to sleep, Kim and Jessica slept but not well compared to the rest. When they woke up and saw the entrance of the dungeon Jessica knew why the quest did say "less than". At the entrance around 400 goats were waiting for them to get closer, Aron, Daisy and a few others went to the ballista ready to fire some extra bolts.
They started shooting the bolts that they put on fire except Aron, he was trying to put some of his Mana into the bolt hoping it would increase the impact. The others now on bolt number 4 looked at Aron, at that moment they saw a yellow glow around the bolt. Aron now released the bolt and when it landed it was pure madness, the bolt exploded with a force the goats close to the impact thought it was a regular bolt like the rest. Yes they would get wounded but they could survive it, this bolt was deadly in a range of 15 meters around the impact zone. 25 meters around it was heavy injuries and until 40 meters around it was smaller injuries.
The rest now knowing what to do started putting Mana in their bolts as well. This was becoming a one sided massacre, one of the side bosses who was leading the goats was not sure what to do so he joined his fellow goats at the wrong time. He now caught between 6 bolts flinging at his direction had the feeling this would be the end so he charged forward rallying all goats to do the same.
Now that the 200 left goats were running out of the entrance Aron inspired his team members. The hunters did get their bows, the guards and healers did get ready for impending doom. The people at the ballista still shooting bolts with Mana now did get a rhythm making several goats fall to their deads even the side boss was not lucky enough to escape.
Aron now more proficient with his Mana bolt trying to infusing his mana with the ballista as well, this did give him two new skills.

Aron could now fire his bolts at a faster pace, before the goats could get close to the ballista Aron shot 60 bolts killing half of the goats running towards them. Instead of people now using their own bolts the all went to Aron and let him shoot the ballista bolts.
