CHAPTER 4: ATTEMPT TO REMEMBER

...with teary eyes I drifted off to sleep .....

'' Asai.. what are you doing come over here ''
'' believe me when I say there's a surprise behind this wall for you and trust me you're gonna love it ''
'' Surprise ?, but who left it ''

'' no.. you...please Ralia don't do this I... I thought we were friends ''
'' Now burn ''
'' Go..go....go ...go... For this is not the place for you''
She heard a mocking but whispering voice, seeing all the familiar yet unfamiliar faces.... She lost consciousness

~ gasp ~
Gasping for air deeply, she opened her eyes in shock and confusion of the dream she just had... her mind was blurry... everywhere went blank for a moment as she tried to realize herself
~ crack ~
There was a crack in the ceiling she was starring at, not quite the ceiling but the air, like there was a crack in space, though it wasn't quite wide enough for her to clearly see what was on the other side,.. the only thing visibly through it was darkness, narrowing her gaze at the weird fenomenom she was witnessing, something was visible through it
'' wha- '' in confusion she tried to understand what she had just seen '' feathers..... White feathers on fire- '' she witnessed white feathers burning but wasn't quite sure since the hole in the crack of space was too thin ' what is happening to me-... Ever since I met that man I've been seeing and hearing things I don't remember afterwards, what was that dream about ' she thought '' Asai '' Ashley quietly whispered the name, echoing throughout her quiet room ' who's that, atleast I remember words from my dream but the faces are still a blur in my mind ' not thinking much about the strange crack she witnessed in space while starring at the ceiling
'' this is so frustrating... I'm hungry '' she let out a deep sigh frustrated, she sat up on bed and looked at the clock indicating it was evening which meant dinner time, ' yess ' she thought...Just then
Knock ~
'' Ashley are you awake it's dinner time '' the door opened slightly as her mother saw her up In bed looking her way she couldn't help but smile in relief with warmth as she strode towards her daughter
'' great you haven't eaten for two days, once you managed to wake up you went to bed for another three hours , thank God you're awake, come now let's go have dinner Reha would be overwhelmed to see you '' her mom said as she caressed the cheek of her daughter

A day after, in the evening, right after dinner I decided to go out for some 'investigation'
'' No ''
'' but mom.... I'm just going to investigate where the journey of weirdness in my life began, moreover I'm going with Reha so it's fine....right ''
'' No it is not alright, you also went with Reha the first time, didn't you? '' mom said giving me a stern look
'' Reha won't leave my side even for a split second this time- ''

I screamed going back to my room but before I could shut the door
'' persistent daughter '' mom did throw back
' but I gave up anyway ' I thought as I slammed my door shut

Laying on her bed ' I need to regain all memories lost , I have to remember everything, I must meet that guy again '

* Three days ago*
'' Evil involves betrayal... Come ''
After the devil spoke there was dust left behind and another journey took place in another realm
Two hours later two figured seemed to have arrived at a deserted area, the area finally seemed normal with no pit and flames or a hellish scene
But this two figures still stood in the area,
Ashley was overwhelmed, shaking, breathing heavily, she raised her head to look at the man she had not figured out was the devil
Her eyes showed the same emotions the devil witnessed in a certain person's eyes decades ago but held a bit of confusion in them
'' Anger, sadness, disbelief, hatred, regret, and confusion I see it all in your eyes '' he paused to let all information sink in properly
'' do you know what caused all these ... Evil.... Yes evil.... '' he moved closer to her his eyes piercing deep into her soul he spoke '' you might not remember much afterwards but remember this '' he said as he held ou a tiny glass jar that seemed to have appeared out of thin air unto his palm, Ashley gazed at it wide eyed '' and also.... Remember this... ''

The devil appeared in another realm and conflict remained there for four days but alas on the second day in the evening the devil looked at what he saw and smirked '' you must at least remember what I showed you in the glass jar now

Realisation hit her ' remember this..... '' in a haste she sat upright on her bed due to a hint of memory
'' that guy he.... he said something, no,- he showed me something.... What was it .... Think.. think '' closing her eyes and meditating she tried recall what he showed her '' a jar,... Right! It was glass and it was tiny '' ..... '' but what was in it,' she thought '' wait- I remember, it was------ ''
Her mind suddenly went blank as she was about to realize what she saw

'' those fools,.....'' ' I see the reason why they're called what they're called, for them to be heavenly in the first place ' the devil sat on his throne, made of flames as he thought ' but she's definitely stronger than that, you demons in disguise did use a wise approach.. you are smart indeed, but to think her instincts are gone, I guess they're not smart after all '
Grinning widely, the devil rested his back on his throne , ' now... Fight-- '

* Back on earth *
She just couldn't think, as if there was a programmed code in her head to prevent her from thinking, at that moment she didn't even know her own name .....
Just then darkness enveloped her as if she had been swallowed by it, she found herself in the middle of darkness, dark mist enveloped the area as she swung her hands all around the place to see if there was something she could feel... Suddenly a hand grabbed her's and then.....

In a room a body could be seen sitting frozen on the bed, not moving, neither were the opened eyes blinking as if it were a statue

She felt like she had lost herself for a moment immediately she was touched by that hand, '' huuhhh~~ '' inhaling deeply she realized she was in the same position, she didn't seem to have moved at all, moreover she had a hint about what that man showed her
'' it... It was bright and it.... It was--------
