Chapter 51: Talking with Family (Part 6)
I turned to my family, taking a deep breath. "Well, Dad, sis, as Mom mentioned, my engagement with the Tang family has been broken. That's settled. But, recently, my childhood friends—Olivia, Lao, and Quin—came to see me, and last night, I proposed to them along with Ah Ming." I paused, letting it sink in. "And... they all accepted me."
Mom had already been updated on my plans for the future, but Dad and Zu Xing were hearing it for the first time. I could see Dad's curiosity as he leaned forward.
"So," Dad began, "you have four fiancées now. But how many wives are you planning to have in the future? What if you fall for someone else? Won't they feel abandoned?"
"Don't worry, Dad," I replied calmly. "I talked this over with them. They understand that as a martial artist, I may have more wives in the future. But they only had one condition—that the four of them will always be my main wives. I agreed, and they're at peace with that. I also promised to help them cultivate their martial abilities."
Dad nodded thoughtfully. "Well, you are skilled in cultivation, business, and weapon mastery. They'll have every reason to feel secure with you in the future. Your success would be a natural magnet for more people."
I glanced over at my sister, Zu Xing. Adopted into our family, she was not only a renowned musician but also a talented business manager. What most didn't know was that she had been through a lot. She was also a heroine in her own right, and despite the world's will intervening, she harbored feelings for me—a crush born from the time I saved her during a critical moment in her life.
After an accident, she had temporarily lost her memory. But when her memories returned, she knew I was the one who had saved her, and that realization had sparked feelings in her. However, due to the world's constraints, she kept a distance from me.
I knew now that I couldn't just leave things as they were. Operation: Win Over Heroine Sister had to begin.
"Koneka," I whispered under my breath, "activate initial voice."
In an instant, my system, Koneka, responded, enhancing my abilities as I recalled the memories that fueled my determination.

Flashback to the Past
As I sat at the dinner table, watching my stepsister, Zu Xing, memories of the day I found her near death flooded back. I recalled the bloodied wounds covering her body, the deep gash on the back of her head. She had been barely clinging to life when I arrived.
Through my investigation of the Xu family, I learned the heartbreaking truth: her family of five, including her grandfather, parents, and little sister, had been betrayed by none other than the Ling family—the same family of Ling Yang, the so-called protagonist.
The day it happened, they were returning from a happy outing at an amusement park. When they got home, her grandfather was the first to fall, brutally murdered before their eyes. They tried to call the police, but just as her father reached for the phone, he was struck from behind.
Zu Xing had hidden, clutching her little sister's hand tightly, terrified. Then, she saw him—the man behind it all—Ling Yang's father. He confessed, mocking the Xu family, saying how he'd always hated them and wanted their power and position for himself.
Zu Xing's little sister, innocent and brave, confronted him, calling him a "bad uncle." Instead of showing mercy, he slapped her down and then committed unspeakable acts against both her mother and sister. He left them all to burn in the mansion he had set aflame, never knowing that Zu Xing had managed to escape.

Returning to the present, I clenched my fists under the table. This was no time to let old fears resurface. My sister deserved to feel safe, to know she had someone she could trust completely. This mission was as personal as it got, and I would stop at nothing to make sure Zu Xing understood that she was more than just a distant memory
