Can you imagine?

"Mama, you won't believe who I ran into yesterday." Ivy exclaimed, her voice high and dramatic as she flounced into the lavishly decorated living room of her mother's estate.

Her mother, Vanessa Yang, looked up from an article she was reading, her keen eyes instantly noticing the flush on Ivy's cheeks. It was like she had run a marathon to disrupt her morning routine.

She set aside her newspaper giving her daughter her full attention. "Who, darling?"

"Lisa Yang," Ivy replied, her tone dripping with disdain. "Of all places, she was at the mall. Can you imagine?"

Vanessa's eyes narrowed slightly, and her fingers momentarily stilled. "What was she doing there?"

"Shopping, of course," Ivy scoffed, sinking into the plush sofa opposite her mother. "Probably trying to play dress-up, pretending she still belongs in our world." Ivy added

Vanessa's lips pursed as she considered this.

"And did you speak with her?" She asked cautiously.
