Just as I was about to leave, we saw the secret wall of the Rusty Chalice sliding down. My sister created small fireballs that hovered over her shoulders, ready to strike. Barton muttered something under his breath and crouched down, taking cover.
[Upgraded Dagger]
The wall slid down, down, and down. It was supposed to take five seconds, but it felt like it took five years. The anticipation was killing me.
"Hey," Aeara called out.
Realizing we were ready to strike her down, she raised her hands in a gesture of peace. Sura sighed in relief and dispelled the fireballs she had just conjured. I let my dagger disappear into thin air.
To Aeara's left, Karma stepped forward, standing in front of the entrance. Upon seeing her sister, she ran toward her, picked her up, and hugged her while kissing her cheeks.
"Finally," she said, her eyes welling up with tears. "You're safe. Thank God. Thank the gods!"
