UNLIKE YOU

I woke up and found myself overlooking a street, holding an Upgraded Dagger in my hand. Confused, I tried to figure out what had happened. I remembered sitting on the steps of the mountain – then I must've dozed off. I didn't remember what I did after waking up.

Pulling my neck gaiter down, I spun around, checking my surroundings. It was night, the full moon glowing in the sky. The air was unusually cold, like if I were to spit, it would freeze. If my memory served right, it was a fall cold snap, where the air got colder than normal and became dangerous if one stayed outside for too long.

There was a kid in the middle of the street, frozen to death. I must've been watching him before I came to my senses. Poor kid. I could also see multiple homeless men lying motionless on the street.

"Shit…" I muttered, feeling a knot form in my stomach. "That's... horrible."

"Indeed," a voice called from behind me. "It is."
