DEATH & PLUNDER

It was hard to believe, but the Rusty Chalice had become a sanctuary for the people. Even the guards were resting there, Mira and Haruko helping them by serving food and drinks, while Barron stood behind the counter, frowning. He was probably unhappy about his food and drink being given away for free. But despite his grumbling, he stayed quiet, knowing the people needed this. Huh… I guess even the old bastard can be decent when it counts.

Across the bar, Hana and Ela were watching me, whispering among themselves. After we helped the people of Gravif, we had to rest here at the Rusty Chalice to gather our strength.

"Are you good?" Mira appeared beside me, her voice gentle but full of concern. "You should rest."

"I'm good," I muttered, barely meeting her eyes. "Don't worry about me."

Her face softened with emotion. "I'm… I'm sorry about your sister. I really am. I wish I was there to help her."
