Swarms of Red Eyes Monsters

The cave was alive with the sound of battle as Reychard's team clashed with a swarm of bats that swooped in with lightning speed in the narrow tunnel.

"Attack!" Reychard, who charged forward first, took the lead and swung his massive sword, meeting the swarm of bats head-on.

— Slashing Arcs

Reychard's sword sliced through the air in powerful arcs, each strike sending the bats shattering into small mist, only to be replaced by another bat that quickly took its position.

The dimly lit cave was filled with the numerous small red eyes of the monsters, their screeching sounds echoing through the area, accompanied by a subtle hiss.

Behind Reychard, Liriel and Thalion immediately joined the fight, helping him take down the horde of monsters.

— Quick Strike

Liriel struck the surrounding monsters with swift precision, her dagger flashing in the dim light of the cave.

— Multi Shot

Thalion, the ranger, drew his bow and fired multiple arrows at once, striking the bats with high precision. But to his surprise, the bats didn't fall from the attack. Instead, they transformed into a dark mist, only to reappear a few seconds later without a scratch.

"Everyone! This is a shadow bat, watch out!" Thalion shouted, warning his team.

Reychard, who heard the information, quickly gave his order, "We need to time our attacks carefully! Keep an eye out for their cooldown of skill!" He continued to slash through the bats with his sword.

"Liriel! Assist Reychard," Nikos' voice came from the back, "target the bats that just materialize back!"

"Yes, sir!" Without hesitation, Liriel quickly followed Nikos' instructions.

Reychard took the front, triggering the shadow bats' skill, while Liriel finished off the bats that materialized back.

In the middle formation, Chloe stuck close to Orion and Marielle, who continued to use their healing skills to support the entire team.

At the back, Nikos and Jarek were busy thinning out the monsters.

Jarek swung his greataxe, slashing through the evasive forms of the horde bats. "Master, I'll keep the bats off our backs," he said, continuing to fight the monsters.

The surrounding bats tried to bite Jarek's body, but their teeth clanked against his thick, hard skin, which was covered in scales.

Nikos slashed the bats one after another with his sword, striking them down after they re-materialized from the shadows. He didn't give them a chance to get close to him.

The screeching sound of the bats and the subtle sound of their hisses continued to ring in Nikos' ears. Is there more monsters on the way?

In between the fight, Nikos glanced around to check on the others.

Orion and Marielle were in the middle, continuing to cast their healing spells. Orion spread a link of healing magic that connected to all members, while Marielle activated an area filled with healing energy, doubling the healing effect on their team.

— Thread Link Heal

— Area Heal

Marielle's hand was bitten by the shadow bats, but she slapped them hard, all while continuing to focus on her task of healing the party.

Chloe, in the middle spot, was also surrounded by the bats while she was reciting a spell. "Can't you just leave me alone?" she exclaimed, striking the bats with her magic staff, but the monsters kept going after her.

— Fire Shield

A fire shield formed around her body, immediately burning the surrounding bats that were attacking her, before they could even sink their teeth into her skin.

"Ah, finally I'm at peace at last. Now, where was I? Right, I'll continue the spell." Chloe raised her staff while chanting a spell, and from the tip of her staff, a fire orb began to manifest.

Seeing this, Nikos shouted, "Lady Chloe, hold your fire spell This place is too narrow!" he cautioned her.

Chloe suddenly stopped her magic in the middle of activating it. "Ah, you're right, sorry about that, darling." She nodded quickly, understanding the precarious of their situation.

The place was too narrow, and if Chloe had unleashed her big fire spells, the area would have been engulfed in flames, killing the monsters but also sucking the oxygen out of the air, creating a thick smoke that would have filled the entire cave corridor and threatened the other teammates' lives.

Nikos continued to slash at the shadow bats that re-materialized back. But the subtle hissing sound that he heard in his ear was starting to unnerve him. Where was this sound coming from?

Hiss Hiss Hiss!

Out of a sudden, many snakes burst out from the ground, their bodies writhing and twisting like living earth, their red eyes locking onto each of the team members.

"Watch out! There are snakes coming from under the ground!" Nikos shouted, leaping out of the way just in time before the earth elemental snakes could bite his feet.

Nikos' shout alarmed all the team members, and they quickly adapted to the situation.

Jarek swung his greataxe at the ground, successfully hitting some of the snakes before they could dive back into the ground, while Nikos' sword slashed and cut the snakes on the ground and the bats in the air.

Both the horde of monsters on the ground and in the air attacked the team relentlessly, and as the battle raged on, the team began to feel tired.

On the front line, Reychard, Liriel, and Thalion were busy fighting the monsters that seemed endless.

In the middle formation, Chloe, Orion, and Marielle were being attacked relentlessly by the monsters. To make matters worse, Chloe's fire shield was no longer active, and was currently on cooldown.

Everyone was exhausted.

Nikos' mind was racing to find a way to kill all these monsters. This narrow cave area was limiting our options to immediately killed the monsters, and we definitely couldn't use fire. Then, an idea suddenly came to him.

Nikos glanced at Chloe, "Lady Chloe, do you have any freezing spells?!" he asked.

"I do have some," Chloe replied.

He quickly dashed next to her, "Go activate that, I'll protect you here."

"Thank you, darling. Leave it to me." Chloe closed her eyes and began to chant her spell.

Nikos stood beside her, his sword slicing through the bats and snakes that tried to interrupt Chloe's concentration.

The bats dodged with their shadow skill and dived at him wildly, attacking him with ferocity, while the snakes slithered through the ground, reappearing quickly and biting at his feet.

But Nikos kept defending her stubbornly, refusing to let the monsters get close to her.

Meanwhile, Chloe's lips moved in silent progression as she cast her spell, until finally it was complete.

— Freezing Field

Chloe opened her eyes, "Freeze!"

A blast of her spell filled the cave corridor, and the surrounding area's temperature quickly plummeted, becoming super chilly.

The bats' wings were soon covered in ice shards, slowing their movement as they struggled to stay in the air. The earth snakes writhed in frustration, their elemental rock bodies stiffening as frost crept over them, slowing their ability to dive into the earth.

Chloe's skill was on point, targeting the monsters while leaving her teammates out of the freezing effect.

"Nice work, Chloe!" Reychard shouted, slicing through a bat with a swift downward strike.

In a fluid motion, he drew his sword, its blade gleaming in the dim light. With a powerful slash, he cut through a group of bats and snakes, their slowed reflexes now no match for his boost speed.

Jarek lunged forward closer to the middle formation of the team.

— Battle Cry

His shouting drew the attention of the monsters, and they began targeting him. His greataxe cleaved through an earth snake that had tried to lunge at Marielle, shattering its rocky body into pieces that crumbled into dust.

"Got your back, Marielle," Jarek's voice was steady despite the chaos around them.

"Thank you!" Marielle replied, her eyes scanning the battlefield for anyone who needed healing. She kept close to Orion, the half-orc healer, who was also keeping a vigilant eye on the battlefield.

On the front lines, Liriel, Thalion, and Reychard began to easily thin out the enemy.

Liriel moved like a shadow through the battlefield, her enhanced agility allowing her to dart between enemies with ease. Her twin daggers flashed in the dim light as she delivered deadly slices to each target.

Thalion fired his arrow with lightning speed, perfectly hitting the vital parts of the monsters. "Keep finishing them off, we're almost done."

Reychard moved with purpose, his sword flashing in a series of powerful strikes that cut through the last of the shadow bats. He turned to see the rest of the team dispatching the remaining earth snakes with ease.

At last, all the monsters were finally defeated.

Nikos, his movements as smooth as ever, cut down the final earth snake with a precise, calculated strike. The creature's body crumbled into dust at his feet. He looked around the battlefield, surveying the carnage.

The monsters lay defeated, their numbers dwindled to nothing.

"Well done, everyone," Reychard said, his voice carrying a note of pride.

The team took a deep breath and rested after being assaulted by the numerous monsters in the narrow cave corridor.

Reychard approached Nikos and patted his shoulder, "That was a good call you made, Sir Nikos."

Nikos sheathed his sword, "Everyone did their part very well."

Reychard checked on all the team members, and one by one, they were no longer too exhausted, and their stamina had returned. Now they could continue their journey.

Reychard turned to Nikos, "Move?" which Nikos answered with a simple nod.

"Let's go."

Then Reychard turned to the entire team. "We've cleared this corridor. Now, let's move forward, we need to find a safer spot to rest."

They continued to move through the cave, moving in a tighter formation with their weapons at the ready, prepared for all possibilities.

One hour later, on their journey right in front of them, a pungent smell with decaying odors began to waft through the air.

They arrived at a slightly larger cave space.

On the ground, many bones were scattered around, and Reychard look around then directed his magic lamp to one of the cave walls.

"What the...?!" Reychard found a shocking truth.
