"What do you want to know?" Asked Ludwig.
It took a long time for me to answer because I wasn't sure myself. I had so many questions swirling in my mind after everything I had learned.
"Tell me everything you know," I finally said.
If I wanted to survive in this world, I needed to understand the creatures around me, their strengths, weaknesses, and powers.
Ludwig nodded and began, "Let's start with the Ravagers. They are undoubtedly the most physically powerful among the Arcane Consortium. Their sheer strength and ferocity make them formidable opponents. They can tear through most obstacles and foes with ease. As for weaknesses, little is known about them, but it is rumored that they can be paralyzed by beheading alone."
I listened intently, wanting to grasp every detail. "What about their other powers or abilities?" I asked, eager to delve deeper into the complexities of these fearsome creatures.
Ludwig thought for a moment before continuing, "Aside from their sheer strength, Ravagers possess a keen sense of smell and excellent tracking abilities. They can navigate through darkness effortlessly, using it to their advantage during hunts. Furthermore, they have been known to communicate silently among themselves, making them quite stealthy and difficult to detect until it's too late."
"Wyverns are notoriously difficult to kill due to their impenetrable scales that resist shattering, burning, or destruction," Ludwig explained. "The only way to kill them is by removing their hearts, but that's no easy task with their protective scale covering their vital organs."
Ludwig's scowl deepened, a hint of irritation flashing across his face. "They're a nuisance, thinking they're powerful just because they can breathe fire," he grumbled. "But they lack the finesse of Fire Faes when it comes to manipulating fire. They're more about destruction than control," Ludwig added, clearly annoyed by their reckless use of their abilities.
I observed Ludwig's reactions carefully, noting the range of emotions that flickered across his face. It was evident that discussing certain topics triggered strong emotions within him, causing him to briefly lose his composure.
"The Werebeasts possess incredibly sharp reflexes and heightened senses, making them unparalleled hunters and trackers," Ludwig explained, his tone shifting back to a more composed state. "Their weaknesses lie in their head, heart, and during a lunar eclipse."
As he continued, there was a noticeable shift in his demeanor. "Witches are formidable in their supernatural abilities, but they are also vulnerable to dark magic," Ludwig added, his voice growing somber. "To ensure they are truly eradicated, they must be burned to ashes..."
The mention of a painful memory caused Ludwig to pause, his breath catching momentarily. After a moment of silence, he regained his composure, his breathing returning to normal as he steadied himself emotionally.
Ludwig's demeanor shifted once more as he delved into the topic of Elvens and their unique abilities. His voice carried a hint of reverence and caution, as if he were treading on sacred ground.
"The Elvens are known for their incredible speed and agility," Ludwig explained in a hushed tone. "But what sets them apart are the individuals among them with Geass. These Elvens possess unique powers, such as being a Seer, which is exceptionally rare. Their capabilities beyond Geass are largely unknown, making them enigmatic figures in our world."
There was a sense of mystery and respect in Ludwig's words, emphasizing the profound impact these rare individuals had on the world around them.
"While us, the Elemental Faes, are the nearest to Mother Nature. We are also the Guardians of Transcendence. We have to make sure the Aetherius won't destroy the world of humans because if that happens, our kingdoms will also be destroyed because we are connected to the creations of All Beings."
As Ludwig spoke, his voice carried a weight of responsibility and concern for the world around us. The Elemental Faes seemed to hold a crucial role in preserving the delicate balance of nature and protecting all beings from potential devastation.
When I faced Ludwig, he was still staring at the lowering Sun, his eyes reflecting the golden hues of the fading light. His expression was thoughtful, as if contemplating the vastness of our responsibilities.
"What are the faces of the Ravagers, by the way?" I finally asked, breaking the silence that had settled between us. The curiosity had been gnawing at me throughout our walk, and I couldn't help but seek answers.
Ludwig's smile softened, understanding my curiosity. His gaze shifted from the sunset to meet mine, and he began to describe the Ravagers in vivid detail.
"The Ravagers are formidable creatures, resembling humans but with distinct features that set them apart. They possess long, spiraling horns that curve atop their heads. When they undergo a transformation, their appearance changes drastically. Their skin takes on an ashen hue, reminiscent of the darkness they dwell in. Their eyes, once human-like, turn into fiery orbs of glowing red. As they transform, their bodies expand in size, muscles bulging with immense strength, and their once-hidden fangs elongate into razor-sharp points."
I couldn't help but shudder at the detailed description, the image of these monstrous beings etching itself vividly in my mind.
"The female Ravagers, while unable to transform physically like the males, still possess formidable traits. They too have horns, albeit smaller, and their eyes also take on a blood-red hue when they tap into their powers," Ludwig elaborated, his tone tinged with a mixture of caution and fascination.
I nodded, feeling a newfound sense of urgency and awareness about these creatures, knowing now to recognize the telltale signs of a Ravager encounter and act swiftly.
Ludwig's expression softened as I asked about the Elvens, his eyes shifting from the distant landscape to meet mine.
"Dwarves are indeed small, but Elvens are quite the opposite," Ludwig clarified. "They are tall and graceful beings, often mistaken for Faes but distinguished by their pointed ears and ethereal presence. Elvens possess remarkable speed, surpassing even the Wind Fae, and they hold profound knowledge of the hidden mechanisms of our world."
As we lapsed into silence, I absorbed the information, trying to piece together a clearer understanding of this intricate realm.
