After returning home from the hospital, Kenji surprised his parents with a bold declaration. "I want to start training now, and I'll do it on my own," he announced with unwavering determination.
Kenzo and Asami exchanged shocked glances. They hadn't expected their son to express such ambition at such a young age.
Trying to grasp Kenji's resolve, Kenzo asked cautiously, "That's quite ambitious, Kenji. But do you know how to train your body at your age?"
Asami, concerned for her young son, added, "You're still very young, sweetheart. What kind of training are you thinking of?"
Undeterred by their concern, Kenji confidently replied, "I want to do 100 push-ups, 100 sit-ups, 100 squats, and run 10 kilometers."
Kenzo and Asami were taken aback, doubling their shock.
"I support you in anything, but this is too much for your age," Kenzo stated firmly.
"Yes, Kenzo is right, Kenji. That's too much!" Asami exclaimed. "And where did you learn about this?"
"I looked it up on the computer," Kenji explained matter-of-factly. "Dad showed me how to use it when you weren't around, Mom."
Asami turned to Kenzo with disbelief. "Is that true, Kenzo?"
Kenzo nodded nervously. "Yes, he saw me using the computer and became curious. He's surprisingly adept with it for a four-year-old."
Asami sighed inwardly, torn between pride in her son's intelligence and concern for his well-being. "Even if that's true, Kenji, I can't allow you to do such intense training. You're still so young."
Kenzo intervened, "Alright, but only if we start with something more manageable. How does 10 push-ups, 10 sit-ups, and a 1-kilometer run sound to you, Kenji?"
Kenji hesitated, weighing his options carefully. "Well, it's a start," he thought to himself. Aloud, he continued, "Fine, I accept it. Mom, please understand, this is my dream to become a hero. The training has already been scaled down, so can you support me? I've learned from the internet that 'no pain, no gain.' If I don't do this kind of training, I fear I won't be able to achieve my dream."
Kenji looked at his mother with earnest determination, hoping to persuade her.
Asami gazed at her son, torn between her maternal instincts and his unwavering resolve. Finally, she relented. "You're quite persistent, Kenji. Alright, I accept it. I only want you to stay healthy and happy. If this training brings you joy, I'll stand by you. Just remember, your health comes first."
"Thank you, Mom, and Dad," Kenji said gratefully.
Kenzo smiled at his son. "Yes, son?"
Kenji continued, "Can I also go to the gym?"
Kenzo chuckled softly. "You're eager, aren't you? Alright, but only after you join and finish kindergarten. No arguments this time. Consider it a special deal, just for you."
Kenji's disappointment was evident, but he nodded understandingly. "Okay."
As Asami watched her determined son, she couldn't help but admire his indomitable spirit. "I guess I can't stop him when he sets his mind on something," she mused, marveling at his determination. "And how did he even learn about the gym? Did he search it up on the internet too? Perhaps my son is a budding genius," she thought to herself with a mix of pride and amusement.
Kenzo pondered, "Will the gym even allow a six-year-old? I'll think about it later."
Kenji thought to himself, "If the gym doesn't allow me, I'll make a bet on how long I can endure in the gym."
After asking his parents for permission to start training, Kenji immediately began once they agreed. His parents watched with surprised expressions, not expecting him to dive in so quickly. Though concerned, they didn't stop him, choosing instead to cheered him on, cautious yet proud of his determination to pursue his dreams from such a tender age. After finishing his training session, Kenji took a shower and ate dinner. During the meal, he asked his parents for some things he needed, like protein shakes and a hero costume. They agreed, supporting his ambitions. He also asked his mom to wake him up early in the morning so he could train, and Asami agreed to help. Satisfied and determined, Kenji went to bed, without overwork himself like his past life because of the promised.
