29. Reverse step

"Wow. It seems we have many good quality students this year. I am chief Wintor, welcome to Midgard academy!" The old man said our loud and Julius swallowed.

'Fuck! He's a chief! Part of the strongest people in Midgard academy?!' He was shocked.

Aria who sat quietly on his shoulder rubbed her furry cheek against his as she saw his shocked expression and he calmed down as he petted her.

'Its alright. I'm just a little nervous.' Julius thought and then the elevated alter was suddenly lowered.

The collosal black gate behind him and the chief suddenly lowered into the ground.

'Huh? Is it the chief that's doing this?' Julius thought as he looked around with a frown.

He then looked at the elder who was smiling to himself. They large gates was probably made of a thick rock and this elder also probably had the earth element.

They all walked into the school gate. They were like an army of unexperienced soldiers marching into an unexplored territory.

All the students couldn't help but be awed. Within the gates was a city which seemed to go around the entire island.

The place was made to accommodate a steady amount of ten thousand students every year. Julius too was in awe, he saw various magical vehicles and flying beasts and the buildings.

The buildings were black, most having mystic symbols running through them. All of a sudden, the man held Julius' hand and the ground swallowed them both.

The students were shocked that the chief just vanished into the ground and the other blind man turned into a cloud of smoke before vanishing too.

"What the fuck? Are we supposed to find our way?" A student said in panic and the rest started to mumble.

Amongst them was a blonde haired girl with strange orange coloured eyes. She was dressed in a yellow combat outfit which would enable her to move about well.

"That boy, wasn't he the prince who arrived late?" She asked and a girl beside her nodded.

"Yeah, I don't know how he moved from the back to the front. But it couldn't be that the chief wants to be partial with him, right?" She said with a doubtful face.

She had shoulder length black hair and cute brown eyes. And her outfit was simple and black and her eyes had a hint of fascination as she looked around.

"Calm down students!" Another woman came from the side and stood before the 5000 plus students.

There were more than fifty other people behind her. She walked with elegance, her blue combat attire hugging her sexy body. Her waist were nice and curvy and her breasts were bountiful. She had beautiful yellowish eyes and her long silky black hair was tied up in a ponytail.

Some of the students couldn't help but stare in awe.

"So! For now I'll be directing you to the temporary rooms. From tomorrow, a Ranking of the best students in the test will be revealed, before you go, I'll give you students a tip, the stronger you get, the more amazing rewards and honors you'll have," She explained to them and then gestured for them to come with her.

"I wonder why that chief took Julius." Cedar couldn't help but express his concern as their half brother suddenly went away with the chief.

"Just hope he didn't do something bad, I heard that the teachers are strict," Rowan said with a smile as they followed the students.

Meanwhile Julius was in a huge empty room. The room was empty, the walls were grey and smooth, however, Julius could feel that cold feeling he felt from before when the chief tried to enter his mind.

"Don't be nervous, you'll only show your understanding of magic and Aura so far." The chief who stood at the side smiled to him.

Julius walked to the side of the room on the walls where he saw various weapons hanged on the wall. He took a thin and flexible looking sword.

He swung it around and then he looked at the chief and nodded.

The chief snapped his fingers and then Julius could see magical training dummies coming out of the wall from the other side of this huge room.

The sides were twenty meters apart while the end of the room was thirty metres away from him. The room was also lit with various crystal bulbs hanging on the walls.

He grabbed a bow and a bag of arrows and then he pulled an arrow. The chief raised a brow as he saw this.

The boy clearly chose a sword first, but now he pulled out a bow?

The arrow was suddenly covered by a layer of the golden aura and it was let out of the bow string.

It immediately passed through the head of one of the dummies, making it crumble and dissipated into black particles.

Julius smiled.

In terms of his talent, he even had more talent with the bow than anything else.

He quickly took out three arrows and proceeded to fire them one by one. He was firing so quickly while also controlling his aura to give the arrows speed and piercing ability.

Seeing that the dummies got within ten metres radius Julius dropped the bow and held the sword.

A thick layer of his aura surrounded his body and he could feel lighter instantly. He charged forward, this was his own test, he had to pass it with high marks.

He was very quick and precise with his sword slashes.

'Hm. I wonder which knight trained him. His cuts are straight and there is no hesitation or fear of mistake. His aura level has even surpassed that of a novice. However, his Mana is almost non-existent.' The chief deduced as he watched the prince.

To the chief's surprise, the prince managed to hold on for more than thirty minutes. He noticed the magic beast which sat at a corner watching Julius with much admiration.

'Hm?' He noticed the horns on Aria's head and he wondered what kind of magic beast she would be.

'His beast bond even has a high amount of Mana. How lucky for him.' The chief smiled.

Just then, the chief looked at Julius who was about to be overwhelmed by their numbers.

'So this is how far you'll go, huh?' he thought to himself and then all of a sudden he saw Julius about to strike at one dummy, but then there were two by his sides about to strike him down.

Before his eyes, Julius moved back, reversing his movements. It seemed fluid, no mistakes.

'Eh? The time element?' The chief was stunned.
