For some reason, another smiling face suddenly appeared in her mind, but behind that smile was a cold indifference that forced her to endure all the suffering. Her heart was filled with bitterness as she covered her eyes with her hand, the coldness helping her regain some clarity.

She and he only had a one-night relationship and a marriage title; he would never love her, and she would not fall for him either. The relationship was so clear-cut, so why did she still feel pain when she thought of him?

"Dr. Xavier, thank you very much, regardless of the circumstances. Although you were quite abrupt, you are very caring, and there aren't many caring people left these days." She tried to calm herself, not wanting to be disturbed by emotions that shouldn't be there.
