Blackstreet(2)

At the top of a building a little further away than the one Kai and Yuki were investigating, there were two suspicious men watching them from a distance.

One of them were a blonde haired man, wearing a black cape, a two-piece suit with a spiderweb-like motif running along it, under which he wears a bright shirt. He also kept a dark collar and a large stylized pendant around his neck.

There was also a much older male, wearing a red bucket hat and beige shorts. They wore a fishing jacket with a blue shirt underneath.

"Are you ready, Finger?", The younger man asked him.

He nodded quietly, while getting a metallic purple fishing rod ready.

Bruno then pulled off his cape and threw it into the air. It then grew larger until it completely wrapped around the abandoned building, forming a spherical dome. Finger reeled back his fishing rod, before casting it into the dome. Despite the distance between the two, the purple fishing lines length seemed unlimited.

Finger would wind and unwind his reel many times, until he would jerk up suddenly.

"What's wrong? Did you catch something?"

"Yes I did? It's not the target however. It's way heavier and his body feels more like a mans. Probably around my age too."

"We know that the targets in there already. Just kill everyone off until we find them. With the combination of our fullbring abilities, this should be possible!"

Linny rested herself in the warm arms of Poh. She didn't know why at the time, but she mentally very uncomfortable.

"You can't stay here with me forever you know? You'll have to go back home very soon.", Poh said.

"No! I don't want to go back to that place! If I stayed their any longer then I would've died!"

He then hugged her tightly, as if sheltering her from the horrors of the world. Poh who had lost his family took solace in whatever he could find in Linny. But he was also sure that Linny's family was suffering because of her abscense.

"Linny... after my sister di-- I mean disappeared? I was very upset. I'm sure your family is feeling the same way about you right now. So please go back. I don't want to burden you with living with me any longer."

Linny thought about it for a while. Her past with her own family was very strange. They participated in strange rituals, rituals she did not understand, rituals which she felt scared of, but she knew her parents were strangely affectionate towards her. She was unsure why, but thanks to Poh, she understood that it was love.

Before she could apologise to Poh as well as give her an answer, she noticed something strange in the open door way. There was a long purple thread which was zooming from left to right.

It eventually entered the room which made her point it out.

"What's that?", she asked.

"What's what?"

Poh couldn't see it, which led her to deduce it as a spiritual phenomenon. Upon closer inspection, it had a sliver fishing hook at its end. Once it finally entered the room, Linny stood up as she tried to get Poh out of there.

"I think we should leave..."

"Ah, its probably fine. Maybe a spirit nearby is just up to some mischief-"

The fishing hook then went into his head, which he could feel. It wasn't painful, but it was as if his sixth sense was screaming at him to get it out. In that same moment he too could see the thread.

He tried to grab onto it and pull it out but it was to no avail. He felt it travel from his brain, to his arm and then eventually his heart. It then suddenly jerked out, pulling out his heart and soul from his body.

As flood of blood swarmed out of his chest, Linny screamed in horror.

The fishing hook which still held onto his soul, glowed with a purplish light before absorbing Poh's soul into its string.

In a rage, she activated her scarfs power and swung it at the rod, but it couldn't even snap it in two. Sensing the disturbance, the hook immediately targeted the scarf, but Linny pulled it back.

Kai was the first person to arrive to the gruesome scene. Poh's body was still pouring out blood, with some of it even being on Linny's clothes. The string was still fluttering about in the air.

He quietly whispered to her, "Get on the floor, and don't touch the string."

She was too distraught to listen to his commands. The fishing line started to fly around the room much faster. If she remained where she was, then she would defiantly get caught and die.

Seeing her distraught Kai was a little perplexed at what to do. When Yuki caught up with him, she saw what kind of a situation Linny was in.

"What on earth? The details don't matter. If I don't act quickly then you will all die. Go in there and save Linny, and I'll lift the barrier."

"How the hell am I supposed to do that?"

"Figure it out."

Even after witnessing the dead corpse, she still maintained that calm air of composure and self-control. She came in, delivered orders and left just as soon as she arrived.

First he tried to cut the string with his Asauchi, but instead it just pushed it away. In that same moment of contact, the hook immediately went after him, and luckily he ducked very quickly.

Kai knew what he had to do to save her, but even then he was still scared. Just then he heard a familiar voice whisper in his ear.

"We've come so far, only for you to hesitate now? Do you really need me to hold your hand again? You were no different when Hikone was in danger, and you're no different now."

"..."

The voice felt eerily familiar, but at the same time it was as if he was hearing it for the first time. Whatever this voice said, it spoke the truth. And now was the time for Kai to change.

He got to the ground and slowly, crawled towards Linny, who was still shaking and crying.

"Poh? Poh, get up! Please don't go..."

The hook swerved in front of Kai's face, missing him by only an inch, but this didn't stop him from persevering. He eventually made it to Linny who was still crying.

"Linny, Poh may be dead, but there is still a chance to save him. As he is now, he's a spirit just like us. I can sense it, his spiritual pressure is trapped in these strings. If Yuki beats the user, then we can defiantly free him!"

Upon hearing this, hope began to fill her eyes. She was glad that there was still a chance to save him, and thus she calmed down quickly. Kai looked back to see if they could still escape, but the strings had almost filled the whole room, leaving only their tiny little corner left.

He looked all over the room for any hopes of escape and then came up with an idea. He pointed two of his right fingers at the wall, while shielding Linny tightly.

"Bolts of thunder in the sky, foreshadow come forth and strike! Hado #4: Byakurai!"

A small bolt lightning pierced the wall, creating a man sized hole. Kai fell through it along with Linny, and the two of them ended up outside.

Kai tried to sense Yuki's spiritual pressure, but he couldn't sense her inside the dome.

"So you managed to get out somehow? The rest is up to you then, Yuki."
