Side story: Emily's ordeal

The early morning air was filled with the melodious chirping of songbirds, their harmonious tunes creating a soothing atmosphere that seeped into every corner of Emily's grand mansion. The sun, just beginning to rise, sent delicate beams of light through the narrow gaps in the curtains, casting a soft, golden glow across the room. This was yet another serene morning in the life of Leonard Emily.

Emily lay in bed, the white duvet, plush and comforting, covered her from the waist down, sprawling over the massive bed. She yawned widely, her body stretching out as it attempted to shake off the remnants of sleep. A series of soft pops and cracks accompanied her movements as her muscles gradually woke up.

"Ugh, my head hurts," she muttered, grimacing as a dull ache throbbed in her temples. Fully awake now, she sluggishly pushed the duvet aside and swung her legs over the edge of the bed, planting her feet on the cold floor.
