Elfie And The Parallel World

[ Ahh I know where to go! Let's go to a world similar to this but it has magic, elves, and cat-girls! ]

Before Lex could accept or decline the offer, the magic circle below his feet ignited. His body turned into particles of light and vanished with the magic circle.

All that was left behind was the dusty apartment from where a boy went missing…

'Why didn't anyone warn me that getting taken to another world is more nauseous than riding a car up a mountain when you have motion sickness?!'

Lex screamed or at least he tried to do it. Without a physical body, all he could manage was screaming inside his head.

The voice seemed to giggle at his reaction before it located a new world. Lex's vision, yes, he had been able to see things yet they did not make much sense to him, blackened.

The next thing he knew, he was once again standing in his old rusty apartment. The only difference was that a dozen or so empty cup noodles were lying all around the apartment's floor.

'This brings back memories…' Lex silently thought.

Due to the enormous amount of debt he had, cup noodles were a salvation for him.

'If only my father didn't get remarried and left me behind.'

Lex's mother had died shortly after giving birth to him. His heartbroken father was now forced to take care of both his job and his son.

The first ten years of Lex's life went by smoothly but the problems had started then. His dad started getting drunk and small things started to irritate him.

Lex was smart and knew when to hide lest he got beaten by his father. It was this smartness that managed to keep him alive even when he was falsely accused of fraud and scams.

Lex's father, however, was fed up and decided to remarry a rich fat widow. She had made him legally disown his son before marrying and leaving the country with him.

'Why do I feel so wet and sticky?'

Something fluid was moving down his chest which pulled him away from his thoughts. Lex turned his eyes downwards and his jaw dropped open.

"What the hell?!"

Lex's shirt was soaked blood red, by his own blood, of course. He had never seen this much blood before which made him wonder how he was alive.

'I didn't try suicide so why the hell am I soaked in blood?' He questioned the only entity who could answer him.

[It's because the Lex of this world didn't have your will or determination to live. He went through the same set of events and ended up taking his own life after getting free from jail. ] The system answered.

Lex fell deep into thought. If he remembered correctly, the incident happened a few months after he turned eighteen.

He was currently twenty years old which meant that he was definitely in the past.

[ In a way, that's true. This is the moment where you didn't give up but another version of you did. I brought you into this world since it best suits your needs. ]

'And what are those?' As soon as he asked the question, Lex felt a strange pain shooting throughout his body.

In addition to the memories he had, another set of unknown memories entered his mind.

The world he was living in was called Gaia instead of Earth. There were five continents on Gaia, out of which only one war ruled by humans.

Other continents were ruled by various parties including the elves, the dwarfs, the demons, demi-humans, and a few other creatures.

Lex jumped in the air when he got to know that such creatures existed in this world. He temporarily forgot about his blood-stained shirt and processed the rest of his new memories.

On Gaia, every race had special powers referred to as abilities which allowed them to do things considered impossible in Lex's previous world.

'Different creatures, check. Powers, check. What else is there?' Lex thought with a grin on his face.

But maybe, he shouldn't have smiled then. The next set of memories made him raise his middle fingers towards the sky.

'Great, I make up the twenty percent of the human population that doesn't have any abilities. No wonder this version of me was so eager to die.' Lex felt sympathy towards his parallel world version.

Not all was lost since humans could still train themselves in the art of martial arts.

Lex found out that his other version enrolled in one such academy and worked hard to train himself.

'Damn, this body is slightly buff. It's a sad thing that he could only stay there for a year before this incident happened.' Lex sighed.

After turning eighteen, Lex visited a bar for the first time. He was hoping to have some 'fun' in the bars and enjoy his youth.

Unfortunately, his drink was spiked when he didn't notice and he was knocked out. When he woke up, multiple scam and fraud cases were registered in his name. He was also accused of being involved in gang activities.

Lex couldn't understand how he managed to scam people while being unconscious but no one was listening to him.

The police simply came to his house and arrested him for being involved in gang activities. He was fined with a 10000$ fine.

'Bless that lawyer who was able to help me win. Someone took a recording of what happened in the bar and it clearly showed someone dragging my unconscious ass back towards a hidden room.'

Despite being proven innocent, society marked him as someone involved with gangs and fraud. His non-existing reputation took a nosedive to the line slightly above the bottom line.

'And here I am in the body of my parallel self. Poor guy committed suicide after being kicked out of the school and losing his part-time cashier job.' Lex felt sad for his pathetic parallel-world self.

Though his life had been miserable, he still continued to live ahead. His only goal was to get rich and find the ones who put him in this state.

"System, why did you bring me here?" He asked aloud.

It didn't make sense for someone to randomly pick him up and drop him into his parallel-world self.

[ Because this version of you isn't as helpless as you think of him to be. I know I can be annoying at times but trust me when I say that is one of the best worlds you could've landed into. Also, just call me Elfie. ]

"Going through an identity crisis?" Lex chuckled.

[ I Just realized that I am not really a system. Might as well call me by the name I originally have. It will make things much simpler. ]

Lex remained silent as he was still processing things. He silently walked up to the mirror embedded in his half-cracked closet and stared at his reflection.

His hair was still the same obsidian black yet his eyes had changed. Lex now had amethyst eyes that currently looked void of liveliness.

"What can you give me?" he slowly asked.

[ Most of what you want. But first, you have to become my host. Think of me as a beneficial parasite latching on to you for survival. ]

"I don't think that's the way to convince someone to do something…"

[ You don't need convincing anyway. There isn't anything else for you to do anyway. ] Elfie chuckled.

A set of words suddenly appeared in front of Lex. They simply hovered in the air in front of him, their color the same as his hair.

"Would you like to become the host of the 'Harem Sovereign system?" Lex read slowly.

The words became blurry for a few seconds before changing into a new sentence.

"Would you like to form a relation with Elfie, the guide of lost horny souls?" Lex's jaw twitched when he read the sentence.

He was half tempted to reject but seeing that he really had nothing else to do, he said yes.

[ Ding! The system has successfully bound itself to the host's soul. ]

[ Scanning host's body… ]

[ … ]

[ … ]

Lex sat down on the bed and wondered what new adventure was awaiting him. It was pretty obvious Elfie wasn't actually a real system since she didn't have the standard mechanical voice.

Not only that but she was reciting the dialogues herself, changing them to fit the situation.

[ Would you like to see your current stats? Or would you like to see the awesome powers I can provide? ]

Elfie's voice echoed inside Lex's mind, followed by the appearance of the words, which awaited his command.

'This is all real and I am not having another chunni dream.' Lex inhaled sharply.

But before he could reply, one last pair of words appeared in front of him.

[ Wait, there is more! Would you like to unlock the blessing of Harem Sovereign? ]

AN: I know some of you might be thinking that a 'system' like Elfie is going to be annoying. Trust me when I say I will handle this well xD
