Rio's Hellish Training(End)

Another week passed by in the blink of an eye.

Lex trained with Rio for multiple hours, developing new fighting moves and strategies. The more Lex used his ability, the more he realized how powerful it was.

On paper, Telekinesis seemed like the ability to move objects with your mind. In reality, it allowed Lex to manipulate an external force and play with physics.

"I think you can beat multiple middle-ranked ability users now. You might even be able to beat a high-level ability user if you get a favorable match up." Rio complimented.

This time, the duo were fighting in the grass outside the mansion's doors. According to Rio, Lex needed to get used to multiple fighting environments.

"I still couldn't knock you out though…"

"That's because you are only using your ability with your limbs. Our abilities can be used for close, medium as well as long-range combat. I wanted to train you in close combat and that's why we are sprawling."

"This way, I won't let my guard down in case someone manages to sneak up on me." Lex agreed.

"By the way, did I teach you about using named moves?"

"No, you didn't."

"Listen carefully. Most high-ranked ability users give names to certain moves they use. Just by saying the name of a move, their body uses it unconsciously. It reduces time spent on manually controlling each part of the move."

"I see. I did create one move called 'Force of Destruction' while fighting Mahiru." Lex informed.

"Yes, focus on creating multiple moves to increase your attacking power. You have been strengthening your body anyway."

Apart from fighting, Lex also trained his body. He did the basic push, pull, and core routine to build some muscles and increase his endurance.

Much to his surprise, his muscles were developing faster than he expected.

'I don't feel sore even after doing multiple sets and fighting with Rio. My energy is recovered quickly.'

[ Your body has multiple energy sources. Thanks to Yang Energy, your EE production is continuing. Your body uses it as a source of energy and can even tap into your yang energy if it is required. ]

'Sounds like something straight out of a cultivation novel.'

Despite the efforts Lex put into his training, he felt bored after repeating the same things every day.

'I now understand why authors choose to time skip the training arc. These arcs are plain boring.'

With a sigh, Lex continued his spar with Rio. The outside weather felt nice and a calm breeze ruffled their hair.

"Rio, why hasn't Allen done anything against us till now?" Lex asked casually.

"Oh he has done many things but you just didn't see them." Rio pointed outside the mansion. "For starters, ten people are observing us from beyond the gates."

Lex stopped on his spot and turned his face towards the outside of the mansion. The doors that had been destroyed in the past were still absent, allowing him to get a clear look outside.

However, Lex's eyes didn't see any person standing outside.

'Elfie, can you sense their presence?'

[ I don't detect any EE presence. Either they are males or they have medium or below-ranked abilities. ]

'You can't detect male presences…'

[ Unless they possess a rank 10 or ungradable ability, nope. ]

'…'

Lex internally facepalmed. He tried looking for the people mentioned by Rio but he couldn't see anyone.

"You can't see them. One of them possesses the ability to bend incoming light at certain angles. He can turn himself and the others around him partially invisible." Rio whispered.

"You have so much knowledge of them."

"I planned to exact my revenge and studied everything related to Allen. I have information on all of the people working under him, except for Mahiru and one more guy." Rio explained. "Do you want to put your training to practical use?"

"Huh?"

"Let's go out and beat them. For years, I wanted it to kill all those who cornered me and Victor, leading to his murder. I got my revenge on Theo when he fought you."

"You seemed calm back then."

"I don't let my feelings get the best of me because I know that Allen can manipulate my instincts if I do that. I only show my emotions to you." Rio grinned.

"That felt nice to hear. Anyway, I definitely want some real fighting experience."

"You are only allowed to use your limbs. Remember that."

"Ugh, fine."

"If you manage to defeat five of them, I will terminate the challenge I gave to you. That should balance things out and make it more fair." Rio winked.

Lex was suddenly motivated to fight. He began cracking his knuckles and tried to come up with a strategy to fight invisible enemies.

It turned out that there was no need for him to do it.

"Let's get rid of some of the incoming light, shall we?" Rio raised her hand towards the sky, conjuring multiple black clouds.

They gathered in the sky, hiding the sun behind them. Ten hooded figures were revealed outside the mansion with a decrease in sunlight.

Panicked expressions appeared on their faces when they realized that their cover was blown.

Lex bent low towards the ground and jumped in their direction. Just before his feet left the ground, he used telekinesis to push himself off the ground.

"Damn!"

Lex shot through the air at a blinding speed. He raised his knee higher, aiming for the head of one of the hooded figures.

*Crack!*

A fracturing sound entered Lex's ears when his knee collided with his target's head. Landing on the ground, Lex watched his first opponent crumpling on the ground.

'Four more to go. System scan!'

Multiple windows popped into Lex's vision at once. His eyes darted across the multiple windows until he found the skill he was looking.

"Angle of reflection manipulation. That is a mouthful name for an ability."

Lex used the same movement technique with less force applied on the ground. He jumped over the hooded figures and landed in front of the reflection manipulator.

The latter's body had half vanished in front of Lex's eyes but his lower half was still visible.

With a yawn, Lex punched forward, gathering force in his fist. His punch connected with his opponent's chest, shattering the latter sternum in one go.

"You guys should at least move or attack me. I won't get any training if you don't do that." Lex announced.

The other hooded figures were terrified by his sudden display of power. They knew that Rio was a terrifying powerhouse but never expected Lex to be a threat as well.

[ To think they ganged up on a minor but are in such pathetic conditions themselves. Disgusting. ]

'They will start begging for their lives. These are third rate wanna be villains.'

[ Finish them off. ]

'That's the plan.'
