Heaving a deep sigh, Benjamin turned around, picked up the toolbox, and quietly left the room.

Each step away from Tommy felt like a battle. He just hoped it was a thing of the moment and wouldn't last.

Tommy opened his eyes and sat up from the couch, tossing the blanket aside. He leapt to the creaky window, peering out into the night.

A sad sigh escaped his lips as he watched Benjamin walking slowly under the cold, dark sky.

"Hm," he murmured softly, the weight of the moment heavy in his chest.

He wasn't drunk; he had only pretended to be. The feelings he had, the emotions that had surfaced, were all too real.

Watching Benjamin leave like that, conflicted and somewhat not like his devilish self, made Tommy realize just how complicated their connection was becoming
