Malakai opened his eyes to find a large black dragon standing before him. Gorthok's piercing gaze met Malakai's, and the dragon chuckled, his deep voice rumbling. "You are very daring, Malakai. I must say, I like it. You would dare eat a humanoid in front of humans. That takes courage... or madness."
Malakai laughed, his sharp teeth glinting in the dim light of the cell. He had grown to respect Gorthok, and the dragon had come to respect him as well.
Their bond had grown closer, built on a foundation of mutual understanding and respect. Gorthok admired Malakai's pure, beast nature, untainted by the societal norms that had softened so many other beasts. Strength is king, and Malakai believed it with every fiber of his being.
As for the spell learning, it was going well. Malakai had been practicing tirelessly, and Gorthok had been a willing teacher.
