Chapter 91: Beast Village

Malakai's eyes locked onto the spear tip, its sharp point glinting in the sunlight like a tiny shard of glass.

His mind seethed with a primal urge to lunge at the guard, to rip the spear from its grasp and shatter it into a thousand splinters.

But he restrained himself, his rational mind whispering caution. He didn't need to escalate the situation, not yet. So he spoke, his crimson eyes burning with intensity as they bored into the guard's reptilian gaze.

"I'm Malakai," he declared, his deep voice steady and calm.

The lizard man guard didn't flinch. It regarded Malakai with a calculating gaze, its yellow eyes narrowing as it asked, "Are you coming from the recently destroyed human city? No beast usually comes this way."
