Chapter 120: Bond Of Life II

The intense sensation that had coursed through Malakai's and the Raven's bodies began to dissipate, leaving behind a faint, lingering feeling.

As the feeling faded, the aching in their bodies subsided, allowing them to move more freely. Malakai, still cautious, slowly regained his footing, standing up on shaky legs.

His eyes never left the Raven, his gaze fixed intently on the bird's sleek black form. 'What just happened?' he thought to himself, his mind reeling with questions.

The Raven, too, rose to its feet, its movements fluid and quick.

Though it seemed to be feeling better, its expression betrayed a deep-seated unease.

If anyone was adept at reading bird facial expressions, they would have noticed the subtle tightening of the Raven's beak, the faint furrowing of its brow, and the slight narrowing of its eyes - all indicative of a profound displeasure.
