My Kingdom for a Glove

There was irony in that request, but Kowalsk knew Piotr was right. It could be that when the dragon grew tired of chasing Piotr, it would turn against him, who would certainly be an easier prey since he lacked sufficient weaponry to stop the creature, lacked Piotr's super strength, or anything else.

After a few seconds of searching, he spotted something hidden in a space between two walls that he hadn't noticed before. A metal cabinet with keys and drawers, about a dozen of them, suddenly piqued Kowalsk's interest in hopes of finding something to help in that situation.

Strangely, the drawer he opened didn't contain any weapons, but luck couldn't have smiled on him better, as there was a rugged glove made of heavy metal on the outside and an incredible rubberized material on the inside, the most amazing he had ever seen. It seemed like a kind of cushion that easily adapted to his hands. So soft was it that Kowalsk thought he might even face that beast with a few punches.

But he knew that glove wasn't for him and that its owner desperately needed to use it. Kowalsk started running towards Piotr, but before he got close enough to become a target for the dragon, which was crawling faster and faster, he shouted, "_Think fast, my friend!" and threw the glove with force.

"Great! Right on target," he said happily to himself. But his friend's response was not satisfactory. "Can I know what I'm supposed to do with this single right-handed glove?" Kowalsk grumbled before realizing his mistake.

To complete his luck, the dragon decided to change direction and came crawling towards his side. "Hey, Piotr! Come over here and help me with this beast. Hurry up, please."

Then it was Piotr's turn to laugh, finding the situation ironic. "Hey, old soldier! Why so scared? This dragon still has very injured paws and is crawling as slowly as a turtle, and that scares you?"

"Turtle, my foot, you weirdo. In case you haven't noticed, it's crawling as fast as an uninjured crocodile. And don't forget I need to find your other glove, or don't you care?"

Piotr looked at the glove he was holding and saw that it was the same one he had used on other occasions, and with the pair complete, he had effortlessly torn apart dozens of soldiers. They were special gloves with super padding inside, allowing him to deliver his best punch without injuring his hand.

Suddenly, a feeling of euphoria began to invade his heart, and he quickly advanced towards the dragon, grabbing it by the tail and slowing its crawling speed, while Kowalsk opened drawer after drawer in hopes of finding the right glove.

"Here it is, my friend! I finally found it," said Kowalsk euphorically as he threw the glove to Piotr.

With excellent reflexes, Piotr simply slipped his hand into the glove before it fell, adjusting it quickly and feeling secure as he leaped over the dragon to face it head-on.

"Now we can talk on equal terms, you stupid animal," he said, delivering such a powerful punch to the dragon's head that immediately knocked it out.

In the distance, Kowalsk celebrated, "That's it! That's how it's done."
