A fortunate coincidence

Ascending the realm was easier than Felix had hoped for, because with his strength, his Bloodline, and his physique combined together, it wasn't hard in the slightest to split open the sky and enter the Dao Realm.

Once Felix disappeared into the huge crack he made in the sky, at the very same time space crumbled somewhere in the Dao Realm from which Felix walked out.

Feeling the atmosphere, Felix was instantly filled with jealousy towards the Dao Realm Residents.

This was because the concentration of Qi around him was just as high as it was inside the Qi lake Felix secluded himself in! However, the air was completely clear and not even misty despite how high the concentration of Qi was!

And although Felix didn't know what it was, he could sense that there was something other than Qi around him.

It was almost like he could touch that if he just stretched his hand out, but even then he wouldn't be able to feel it.

Despite being perplexed at what his senses were telling him, Felix knew that it was just the tons of dao strands around him. And the reason he couldn't totally perceive their existence was because he hadn't fully comprehended any Dao....yet. 

While he did understand a little Dao about Space, and Yin and Yang, the understanding wasn't enough to tear the mask off of the universe and see Dao in its purest form.

Therefore if he ever wanted to touch the purest form of Dao with his hand, he'd need to grow strong. And luckily Felix knew just the place for it.

The Main Mission would only be considered as successful when he joins the Ethereal Dao College, and to his knowledge, the Ethereal Dao College was the best place in the Dao Realm where one could learn Dao having to pledge allegiance or loyalty to.

Because even though there are many other forces on the same level as the Ethereal Dao College, they are all mostly Sects, Clans, or Empires. Therefore if you want to grow strong in any of them, you'd need to join them and become a part of that force.

But once you do, there was almost never a way to leave them without being hunted to the end of the world.

This was why many people tried to join the Ethereal Dao College because they had no rules forcing them to stay loyal or serve it.

Unfortunately, less than a tenth of those who take the entrance exam are selected to study inside the college, and even the conditions to take the entrance exam for the college was very strict that not everyone could try it.

Looking around Felix finally noticed that the place he came out of was not some desolate location, but he was near the foot of a huge mountain range. And not far from him many people of various species were walking side by side in the road leading up the mountain.

Curious as to what was happening, Felix strained his ears to listen to the conversation of those who were walking up the mountains.

"Heheheh, once I join the Ethereal Dao College no one will be able to rival me!"

"You? It'll be a huge miracle if you could even pass the Stairs of Dao. Stop dreaming about joining the college fool."

"What are the Stairs of Dao?"

"Haaa? You don't even know about the Stairs of Dao are and want to join the Ethereal Dao College?"

"Ummm.... Even I don't know what the Stairs of Dao are..."

Listening to those around him, a male who looked to be in his 30s with two short horns on his head stepped up and let out a few fake coughs and spoke with a proud expression.

"Let me tell you guys, before you even think about taking the entrance exam to join the college, you'll first need to pass the Stairs of Dao."

"The Stairs of Dao are said to have been made by the first ever headmaster of the Ethereal Dao College, and just by walking on them those who are talented can comprehended various low level Dao!"

Hearing the man, those who didn't know about the Stairs of Dao took in a cold breath and waited anxiously for him to continue.

"Unfortunately since the Dao, you can comprehend from it are too low in level, and every individual can only use it once in their whole life, they were later on removed from the training grounds and placed in front of the entrance to test those who want to enter the college."

"From then onwards the Ethereal Dao College has been using the Stairs of Dao as the most minimum criteria to pass if anyone wants to take the Entrance Exam to it."

Nodding their heads in unison, those who just learned about the Stairs of Dao were looking at the man who spoke with bright eyes full of reverence, until finally one of them asked a question.

"That's fine and all... But tell us how the college uses the Stairs of Dao to test its applicants."

"Yes yes, tell us!"

Hearing this question an awkward look appeared on the man's face, as he looked at no one in particular and shouted, "Ah there you are! I'm coming!"

Looking disdainfully at the scurrying away back of the man who spoke like he knew everything in this world until now, those who were listening to him until now snorted and continued walking up the mountain.

By now Felix had heard everything they spoke, and had realized that he was quite close to the Ethereal Dao College. Which meant that the huge mountains in front of him were none other than the Mountains of Dao!

Unable to believe that right after he ascended he appeared right in front of the Ethereal Dao College, Felix began thinking that this might not be a coincidence, but something done by the System.

Anyway regardless of whether it was a coincidence, or the System had done something, Felix knew that he was very lucky to appear in this very place and not somewhere else.

Not wasting too much time, Felix joined the others on the same road and started going up the Mountains of Dao to reach the Ethereal Dao College and take the entrance exam.
