EIGHT-THE BAG IN MY CLASS

So it's been established that Tessy's crush No 10 likes bbq, ice cream and Netflix. Goes out hiking once every two days after dusk, and comes back before the first crack of dawn, has a swarm of female flockers but only few friends, and hates cheese.

But personally, I feel like that's surface scratching;

K-[Got anything on him?]

T-[Nope. But he sent me a heart emoji sticker]

K-[All boys do it...]

T-[ Ouch...]

K-[???]

T-[He's a Jock]

K-[ Explains the character. And the name...]

T-[???]

K-[You know what? Forget it.]

T-[Forget what?]

K-[He's a wolf.]

T-[?????????????]

K-[ The wolf of strong hold...]

T-[You mean the name Augustine Arnoldine?]

K-[ I didn't know you were smart 🧠]

T-[ Oh my God!!!!! You used an emoji!!!!!]

K-[ No I didn't! So back to business. He's Scottish, likes bbq, ice cream, Netflix and nighttime hiking twice a week. What else?]

T-[ He's got two elder brothers living in London]

K-[ And why is he still in Kentwood?]

T-[ I don't know. Probably to finish highschool here.]

K-[ In the bogs of the hinterlands??]

T-[The hinterlands has been your home for like... What fifteen years?]

I chuckled. She doesn't even know that fact. Can't blame her. She's a human with a brain, not a microchip of infinite unformattable storage. Don't blame me, I tend to act to smart sometimes.

T-[Uh, I take your silence as a contemplative affirmative.]

K-]Go to sleep! See you tomorrow at school?]

T-[ Whatever]

I sighed and switched off the phone, then plugged it to the socket by my bedside.

I didn't know why, but I was sure this was going to be my boldest stroke.

†*************†

School again. Another day of total invisibility -at least to everyone but myself.....and maybe Tessy.

I walked into the school hallway, headed for my locker, when the familiar vibration hit my skin from my pocket.

T-[ You officially start working for me today, so you better start calling me Boss. Get it?]

K-[And good morning to you too.]

I opened my locker, and picked out my books, then stowed them in my bag.

I hesitated before deciding to tell her. The sooner she knew, the better.

K-[ I'm going to Korea soon ]

T-[To do?]

K-[To study computer Engineering]

T-[UNI? That's new. How soon?]

K-[ The week after grad]

T- [And prom?]

K- [Maybe.]

T- [But you'd have to give me my boyfriend before you go.]

K- [Wannabe boyfriend.]

T- [Whatever you say. Is he already in your class?]

K- [How would I know? I'm not even in class yet.]

T- [ Really? With one minute left?]

K- [ Which is why I have chem class now. Bye.]

T- [Sure. Whenever.]

The bell rang for the start of the school day, and as par tradition, I walked in cautious silence, to the back of the class where my seat was- the only place where the six desks lined up empty beside me - except now, there was a blue bag pack on the desk next to mine.
