INTERLUDE

NEBULA

Nebula walks up to a single mirror, standing in the middle of her room, in the apartment that was issued to her, as it was to any Lunarian delegate before her. The Kobold kingdom was usually handed off to the delegates in training. Nobody liked spending time here. However, she believed that stars were watching over her, waiting for her to rejoin them.

When Lunariae die, their souls lift up to the sky, and they become one with the stars above. That fate awaits her too. How can you be separated from something you were made of? Stardust coarsed through every bone in her body. It was there at her birth. She could never be truly alone.

She closes her eyes and whispers a few ancient words. The mirror glows purple, the colours swirl on its surface. Moments later a figure shows up in it, back turned to Nebula.

"Sister Cressida?"

"Ah, sister Nebula," the fae turns around with a smile. She is chubby with long purple hair, like other Lunariae, and has a mischievous smile on her lips. "You wanted to urgently see me?" She sounds half-bored.

Nebula nods. "There are news you should be informed of. There is unrest in the Court of Gold and Steel, a revolution that's brewing."

Cressida is silent for a few moments as she ponders it. "It's what we've been expecting for a long while. It was just matter of time." Her voice sounds like she is singing.

"After all, the age of Sangarius is upon us."
