The Seduction of Fear

Helena goes to the dental office. She walks in and he asks why she’s there.

—Doctor, one of my teeth has bothered me for a long time.

-Tell me which? This? Helena points at him. He looks at her and asks, —Does it really hurt, miss?

-Yeah.

—It’s strange, this dental piece is in perfect condition, —says the dentist, while he sits down. Then he asks her, —Miss, what is his job?

-I’m a teacher.

—Well, what you need is a day off.

And she prescribes some medicines:

—Miss, you are fine, but I insist, despite having good teeth, you must rest.

She looks at him and pushes the dental instruments.

—How clumsy!

—Don’t be careful— and she leans in.

It’s when she looks at his neck.

—Miss, is something wrong?

—No… I thought she had a spider…

-A spider!? Please take it off me! —She says it while she jumps.

—Please stay still. —Helena looks at him, but she accomplishes nothing. Well, sir, it seems the spider has disappeared.

He touches her face and shakes a little.
