Chapter 179: Preparing for Hunting and Skill Effects
______
A table filled with delicious food was set in the luxurious palace.
Crunch.
The door opened.
Two girls walked in side by side.
Tatsumi, who was playing with Mine, looked up and waved, "Akame, Kurome, you're here!"
The two nodded at him.
Lubbock folded his arms, leaning lazily on the ornate chair.
"Akame, do you know why the boss suddenly called us over?"
Night Raid had been disbanded, and their ties to the Revolutionary Army were buried, never to be revealed again.
However, the members of Night Raid received the rewards they deserved.
Akame pulled out a chair.
"I don't know either."
Kurome sat down next to her sister, a curious expression on her face.
Although she often hung out with her sister, she didn't communicate much with Najenda and had never attended one of her gatherings.
Why had she been invited this time?
After a bit of casual conversation, two more people entered the room.
One was, of course, Najenda.
When the other entered, everyone wore a surprised expression.
Kurome, who had been fiddling with her knife and fork out of boredom, suddenly stood up and ran over in excitement.
"Aoki, you're back!"
"I didn't expect it to take this long."
Aoki smiled and glanced at the dining table.
Leone, Bulat, Tatsumi... as expected, all of Night Raid's members were present.
"Long time no see, everyone!"
As soon as he spoke, Leone threw her arms around his neck with a grin. "You're finally back! You disappeared for more than a month. Do you have any idea how worried we were?"
"Sorry about that."
Aoki glanced at her and asked in surprise, "Where's your Lionel?"
Leone punched his chest in annoyance. "It's all your fault!"
Next to her, Najenda explained, "Since you reminded us, we've been extra cautious when using Teigu, especially Leone. I've banned her from using it for now.
With the empire overthrown, the war isn't completely over, but unless there's a special reason, Leone won't be returning to the battlefield."
Aoki turned to Leone, who looked somewhat dejected.
Though she wasn't a battle maniac like Esdeath, she still had a fierce passion for combat, and violence was in her blood.
"That's a wise decision," he said. "Using Lionel will only slowly drain your life."
Leone snorted twice and waved her fists. "Who needs the imperial weapon? These fists are enough!"
"Dinner's ready!"
A tall man in an apron walked in with a tray of food, interrupting their conversation.
Najenda said, "Aoki, let me introduce you. This is Susanoo."
"A biological imperial weapon?"
Aoki looked him over.
Biological imperial weapons were similar to summoned creatures, possessing strong regenerative abilities.
However, unlike demons, they had one fatal weakness.
All biological imperial weapons had a core inside them. Once destroyed, the imperial weapon would die.
This was an unexpected surprise.
Susanoo had impressive combat abilities, and after using his secret technique, he could even briefly contend with Esdeath, forcing her to use "Mahapadma."
He would be a great ally for hunting super dangerous species.
Beyond combat, Susanoo was skilled in housework, combining both life and battle functions, making him the perfect caretaker.
Susanoo suddenly set down the tray, walked over to Aoki, and, with a serious face, brushed the dust off the corner of Aoki's clothes.
"It's much more comfortable this way."
Aoki chuckled.
Well, aside from his somewhat old-fashioned personality.
Everyone took their seats.
Najenda said, "There are two reasons why I called everyone here. First, to welcome Aoki back. Second, to discuss hunting extremely dangerous species."
Everyone turned to Aoki.
Aoki glanced at their faces and said, "I'll start preparing in the next few days. I hope everyone is ready."
The group's expressions stiffened, but no one showed any reluctance.
Aoki had killed both the ministers and the emperor as promised, playing a crucial role in the Revolutionary Army's swift overthrow of the empire.
Now, it was time for them to fulfill their promise.
"When exactly?" asked Akame.
Aoki replied, "Three days from now."
Firstly, it would give him time to prepare for the night raid. Secondly, he needed to wait for the "Ultimate Form" to fully charge.
"Looks like a big fight's coming!" Bulat chuckled and said, "Tatsumi, stick close to me when the time comes so I can protect you!"
Tatsumi blushed and laughed awkwardly, "Thanks, brother, but I can take care of myself."
Mine glared at Bulat angrily.
"Boss," Leone looked eagerly at Najenda.
Najenda smiled. "You can use the Lionel this time."
"Yes!" Leone cheered excitedly.
Lubbock shuddered. "Super dangerous species... feels terrifying. Should I confess to Najenda before this?"
Sheele watched everyone silently, a content smile on her face.
Kurome glanced to the side.
"Sis, we can fight side by side again. My strength will definitely surprise you."
Akame smiled. "I've always known Kurome's strong."
…
The gathering ended late at night.
Aoki sat cross-legged.
This was the residence Najenda had arranged for him, with the sisters Kurome and Akame staying in the adjacent rooms.
He still had some unanswered questions about the "Infinite Dragon Beast."
"Spirit of Vengeance," "Dragon Breath," and "Devour" — Aoki's eyes flicked over these three skills, and information surged in his mind.
"Dragon Breath" was the simplest attack skill. Put simply, it was an energy-based attack expelled from the mouth.
This was basically standard for super dangerous species.
It compensated for his lack of long-range attack capabilities.
"Devour" was similar to the previous "Devour Demon," but there were many differences overall.
The "Infinite Dragon Beast" was a class formed by the fusion of several super dangerous species' bloodlines. It could continuously devour other "bloodlines" to strengthen itself.
There was even a chance to improve the class's quality.
However, not all bloodlines could be absorbed and fused, and it was quite difficult to enhance the class's quality.
Although it didn't directly increase combat power, the importance of this skill was undeniable.
The most intriguing skill, however, was "Spirit of Vengeance."
Whether a half-star profession or something like "White Walker" or "King of the White Walkers," most skills were typically a reflection of a class's strength or characteristics.
But "Spirit of Vengeance" was different.
This skill came from the rage and hatred of those extremely dangerous species.
After being killed, their flesh, blood, and bones were refined into weapons.
Although they were dead, the hatred of those super dangerous species didn't disappear but instead merged with their blood, turning into the "Spirit of Vengeance."
The effect of "Spirit of Vengeance" was especially intriguing.
After reading it, Aoki didn't hesitate and immediately elevated the priority of "Spirit of Vengeance" to the highest level.
