A Divine Warning

"There is nothing that you can do to solve the problem that is about to be laid before you. you will do everything in your power to prevent their death, but it is unavoidable in the end." the human deity said to me while I was walking around in the dark forest world once again, which meant I was currently asleep.

"What do you mean by unavoidable?" I asked as I tried to find her location.

Then, after I spoke, I saw a white mist that slowly creeped along the floor of the forest world until it was completely around me, and I was unable to move due to its effects on me.

"I mean that this event is a fixed event in your life. You might possibly stop it now, but even if you do later, this person will still die. It is required to help with your evolution to godhood. This event will trigger something inside of you like no event has in your past. " The divine voice said to me as I noticed that from the fog, she began to turn solid in front of me.

"If I am to believe you, please tell me who it is that I am supposed to be losing in my future." I said to her with a look of desperation across my face since I was terrified of the thought of losing someone of great importance to me.

"I do not know who it is; but I am able to tell you that that is what will lead to your path of godhood since I am connected to you and after your evolution is complete you will have fragments of my memories as well as fragments of the memories of all of the other Tarren gods that have existed throughout all of time." she said to me as she released the fog and began to walk around the forest.

"If I can not control the fact that someone close to me will die, will it be possible for me to choose who closest to me that it is that will die?" I asked as I followed the sound of her footsteps as she was walking off into the distance.

"Unfortunately, you cannot, that is all that I am allowed to tell you so that you would be mentally prepared for the life-changing experience that is about to occur." she said to me as soon as I heard her stop moving.

I woke up in a sweat and bumped my head against the bunk that was above me which made me become instantly aware of my surroundings due to the sudden pain that was throbbing inside my head instead of slowly gaining awareness.

After I made sure that I was completely aware of everything around me I hopped off the bunk bed and landed on the cold metal floor with my bare feet which sent a cold sensation throughout the lower parts of my body for a moment.

"I'm glad to see that you are awake, Danny. did you get your much-needed beauty sleep?". William asked while laughing at me.

I noticed that the room was very simply laid out all the bunks were against the wall that was to the right of the door, and in the center; there was a rectangular table that they used to play cards. The final main detail that I noticed was that the room also had a sink and two showers against the left wall that were no more than eight feet tall and five feet wide diagonally.

Everyone except for me was playing cards at the center table.

"William, you need to make sure that you put your petty dislikes for Danny aside on this mission. Remember, the mission objective is always more important than your personal hatred for one another. This is the last time that I'm going to be telling you this for quite some time, William. If you ever do anything like this again during this mission or the next one, I will personally request that you become a member of the casteless. I will find a new mage to join this team. None of you are irreplaceable. " Trent said as he was smoking a cigar and placed down his cards that showed a royal flush.

"All right, boss, I really do not want to become casteless, so I will do my best. Also, why do you keep winning every time I play poker against you?" he asked out of frustration towards Trent.

"William, you might be a very capable mage in combat, but your talents do not help you with your horrible poker face. You are as easy to read as a book. " Trent said as he grabbed the coins that were on the table and put them in his pouch that was resting against the rear left leg of the chair he was sitting in.

"Well, I think the..."William said before I heard a voice over the ship intercom.

"We are about to leave the safety of hyperspace. All combatants get ready and to your stations. " a medium pitched female voice said over the ship's intercom.

After the intercom went silent, I could hear that all the other rooms beside us began to seem more active as if they were in a rush to leave their barracks and fulfill their duties.

"We need to get ready immediately and depart for the loading bay. after we make it to the loading bay, we will be waiting until we get the clearance to begin the invasion of the vampire stronghold world." Trent said as he was tying his shoes and then rose to his feet from the chair before he left us in the room to ourselves.

So, I quickly put on all my clothing, including my newly acquired armor, before leaving the barracks.

Then I noticed that everyone began to move in a path to the elevator that was at the end of the hallway to my right since my team was positioned in the rear part of the hallway.

As I walked down the hallway, I noticed that there was a continuous beam of red light that was hanging from the ceiling. so, to maintain my focus, I did not look up at the red lights for any longer than four seconds.

When I made it to the elevator, everyone had left the floor already except for one female attendant who was there to operate this elevator.

"What floor are you needing to get to?" she asked me as she followed me into the elevator.

"I need to get to the hanger please". I said in a respectful but quite serious tone.

Then she pressed a button on the elevator, and it began to move after the door shut.

When the elevator began to move, I thought that it was on to have such an obsolete elevator, especially on one of our warships. To the best of my knowledge, it had been almost 200 years since any human was required to operate an elevator.

"Welcome to the hanger." she said as the elevator stopped moving and opened in front of me.

When I made it out of the elevator, everyone seemed to be moving in haste, and they were carrying a large variety of different types of items.

Some of the people were carrying boxes of supplies while others were using forklifts to move missiles and torpedoes for combat to their respected Star fighters.

The next thing that I noticed was that we only had three types of starships for combat of this mission. The first type of star ship that I noticed was that the ship looked almost like a large metal needle because of its shape and the single pointed nose of the ship at the front of it. The wings of this ship were y-shaped, and I saw that both the top and the base wings had a weapons chamber under them. the final detail of the first ship was that in between the cannon areas, there was an open chamber that I was assuming was used to fire the different types of energy beams that were meant for quick combat.

The main ship that I saw in the middle looked like a bomber, and it looked cone shaped with its thrusters at the rear. Then, the base of the ship was hollowed out and used as exit points for the different types of bombs that the ship would release from

The final ship type was just like the magic powered vessel that I had seen used during the time as a Vordonian prisoner.

"Come on over here, Danny. I need you over here now please". I heard Trent say from my left side while I was still looking at the ships and all their unique designs.

I stopped looking at the ships as soon as I heard his voice and turned around to follow him to wherever he said that he needed me to be.

Then I started my steps to where Trent was waiting for me, but it took me a short while to make it to the location where Trent was standing due to the continuous traffic of moving people and supplies.

"What are our assigned objectives for this mission?" I asked Trent when I finally made it past. He was moving traffic.

"Just wait until everyone else makes it here since I don't want to have to repeat our goals for this mission." Trent said as he leaned against a transport vessel that looked rectangular and had a set of four medium-sized thrusters at the rear.

I spent a few moments trying to think if I could decide if what the goddess told me was going to happen soon or not. She told me that I was going to lose someone of importance to me and that their death would begin my journey down the road to godhood. This thought had me concerned over who's death would it be that causes me to have thoughts of abandoning my normal life.

There are only three people that I can think of that would possibly cause me to do this. That would be the loss of Trent because I respect his resolve and the fact that he does almost everything by the book despite how much it complicates things for him. The second person that would make me enraged if they were to die would be my future daughter. The final person who's death would cause me to want to abandon all hope if they were to die in any way would be Nova. Since I have known her the longest, her death would probably have the greatest negative impact on me.

"Well, it looks like Danny is lost in his own thought once again." Raven said right in front of me while she snapped her fingers in my face. This caused me to snap back to normal and become aware of my surroundings once again.

"Sorry about that. I was just deeply thinking about something that someone had told me recently while I was waiting on all of you to show up. " I said as I stood up and looked at everyone on my team

Everyone that was on my team looked like they were ready to kill some undead which I thought was going to be quite interesting since this was going to be my second time fighting them and I knew that I was not going to make the same mistakes as last time. This time, I am going to make sure that I kill whatever werewolves and undead that I encounter without showing any kind of mercy or weakness.

"Since all of you are now here, I can tell you the mission objectives that you have been assigned during this mission." Trent said to everyone as he stood up and got ready to speak to all of us. "So, our main mission is going to be attacking the main fortress covertly. When we make it there, I will split us up into two teams. One team will attack through the front door and kill all the guards while the other ones disabled the defenses and ensure that we easily maintain the outside area of the fort."

"But Trent, how will we be able to attack covertly if they have a huge army in our way?" Sid asked.

"Well, Sid, the main enemy force will be drawn over to where our main army will be stagging an attack. With the help of the second-strike force team, the enemy should be drawn to that location due to the size of the army that we will be gathering in one area. " Trent said as he was pacing in front of us

"So, you are saying that with that large of a target for them to look at, they will be drawn to it; which will make our objective easier to complete." Raven said as soon as Trent stopped speaking.

"Yes, that is everything that I will tell you about the mission objective for now. I also have already gotten everyone at least three power cells as well as the weapons that I know that you use in combat." Trent said as he pointed at the box that was to his right.

Everyone from my team began to move forward and grab their respected items until all I saw were four power cells, two elemental stones that glowed a bright yellow color, finally I saw a set of dual scythes that were left in the box.

I got the melee weapons and put the yellow power stones inside of them, which caused the edges of the blades to glow with a beam of yellow energy followed by white energy. Then, I placed it in the hilt locations on both sides of my waist. After that, I placed the four power cells that were reserved for me on my waist.

Now that I was ready for battle, I had a bad feeling about this world. Would what the goddess tells me happen to me on this mission, or would I have a good recovery mission of completing the objective without any negative drawbacks.

This thought raced through my mind as everyone from my team boarded the transport ship, and we began to fly out of the loading docks and into the vastness of space that was in front of us.
