Days were quick to turn into years,, and seasons changed and soon five years came to pass. Victoria had grown up to be a little girl who was doted by everyone in the village. Her cute voice was enough to bring out a smile on anyone's face.
Frank also grew to be a fine and good looking man who always attracted any female without lifting a finger. He was always polite with people and escaped from scandal.
Susan and Robert on the other hand were happy and proud of their little family. Robert concentrated on building his family and maintaining peace.
"Frank,, come let's go to our secret place," came the words from Victoria.
"You see the outcome of spoiling her,,both you and your father do anything she asks for,, now hurry up before she begins to cry." Susan said to her son
Frank being a person of few words gladly accepted and took her sister's tiny hands on his.
Both the brother and sister went on a walk to their secret place.
After walking down the valley they came to a halt and sat down to watch the sun set. Who would have thought that watching the sun set was their little secret according to the little girl. It started with Frank surprising her but later it turned into a habit. Frank looked at her sister who appeared like a doll with a smile gracing her lips making a small dimple to be visible. Frank wished to keep that smile intact.
On their way home Frank asked Victoria
"Are you happy now Toria?"
Victoria smiled and nodded her head
By the time they arrived at home,, darkness was all over the land with small lights emitting from burning lamps.
Susan had finished cooking and Robert was also at home. After their meal,, Victoria fell asleep while the rest decided to talk before retiring to bed.
"You know that you are not growing young anymore, do you?" came the words from Susan
As expected,, his parents wanted to talk about him getting married which he had no answer to.
"Your mother is right,, you are a fine young man,, what is preventing you from finding the woman of your desires? Or are you planning to spend the rest of your years pampering your sister?" Robert asked.
Both the parents had seen how different maidens admired and were smitten with their son who turned blind towards them. Even though his parents were right he was not ready to settle like his age mates.
The Wells were well respected just like every other family. They did not find it hard to blend with the rest of their family.
"You don't have to worry,,mama and papa,, I'll settle down once I find the right time to do so." With those words he wished them a good night and went to sleep.
