Chapter 25: War Games

Emergence of the Sun Palace: Sun King Mode!!!!

"Fire" had a ring of fire at his back and his hair had turned into flames. The heat he was giving off melted the monster's claw when it began to attack. The moment he activated his new power, he had become the strongest member of the 7 Elements. Sensing the threat of "Fire's" new power, the monster instinctively tried to flee from his superior opponent.

However, "Fire" would not let him escape as he set a wall of flames around the fighting stage to prevent the monster from leaving.

"Don't try to flee now foul creature, I've already decided that you will meet your end by my flames. Now by order of the king, become ash!" "Fire" said with an air of dignity that he lacked before. It seemed almost like he had become a different person.

Solar Flare!!!!!

The monster was completely engulfed in a tower of flames and incinerated instantly. Much to the surprise of his teammates and the enemy fighters. After he unleashed the technique that defeated the monster, he seemed to have exhausted his power and he began to collapse from exhaustion. Before his back touched the ground "War" jumped down from his suite and caught him.

"I didn't think you were gonna make it buddy." "War" said.

"You idiot, as if I'd lose." "Fire" said before he lost consciousness.

"War" carried him away and took him to get medical attention, and the next match got ready to start.

"Alright ladies and gentlemen, with that match the 7 Elements have taken a 3-2 lead! Coming up next fighting out of the eastern corner, he stands 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighing in at 201 pounds, he has a record of 1023 wins with zero losses, it's….. "Wind"!!!!"

"Now introducing his opponent out of the western corner, he stands 6 feet 5 inches tall, weighing in at 192 pounds, he's making his War Festival debut, it's the Prime Minister of Orenden, it's…"

Cheka Drawn!!!!

Cheka Drawn

Age: 25

Ht: 6'5

Wt: 192

Special Ability: Game Room

"Wow, a Prime Minister and the guy is barely older than me? I said this before, but you really do have some talented people on your side princess." "War" said.

"Yes, Sir Cheka has been a great asset for our nation. I have high hopes for him." She replied.

"I can't say I have the same expectations. For one thing he's fighting "Wind". Not only that but the guy doesn't seem to be that strong. I really can't see this guy having any chance of winning." "War" responded.

"In a direct confrontation I'd say that you're exactly correct, Cheka would have no chance of winning. But you'll soon see where his true strength lies." The princess said.

As the fight started "Wind" rushed forward and attacked Cheka, but his attack seemed to have no effect almost as if it didn't land.

"I'm afraid that won't do you any good." Cheka said wagging his finger. "Violence is strictly prohibited in my game room."

"Wind" looked around and noticed that the arena floor had changed, there were now two chairs with a table between them. When he looked down at his feet he saw his name next to three white circles.

"I assume that this is a part of your ability, do you care to explain how it works?" "Wind" asked.

"Yes of course, this is my ability Game Room. While in this room neither of us can damage the other, the only time we can damage the other is by winning a game. When you lose a game you lose a life, that's what those white circles at your feet are. We will complete in different games until one of us loses all three lives, at which point that person will die. Do you understand all that or do you need me to explain again?" Cheka asked.

"No thank you I understand, let's go ahead and get this started." "Wind" answered as he sat down.

The first game started and it was a game that involved stacking puzzle blocks of various shapes. After a while of stacking their blocks on top of each other, Cheka eventually won after putting his block on top of the tower they were building. This was a surprise to "Wind" as Cheka never explained the rules of the game beforehand.

"Was that some sort of Orendish game?" "War" asked.

"No I never heard of any game like that." The princess replied.

The second game was a tile based game that was a bit like dominoes, but again Cheka won easily as "Wind" was unaware of the games rules.

"This is ridiculous! How is "Wind" supposed to win a game he doesn't know the rules to?" "Water" asked his anger clearly starting to rise.

"I'm afraid that, that may be the point." "Earth" replied.

"Cheka's strength is his intellect. He can create complex games and their rules off the top of his head. He uses his ability to maneuver himself into a position where he can't lose." The princess said. After she said that "War" started laughing. "What's so funny Sir "War"?"

"It's just, you said he's in a position that he can't lose. When really he's right where "Wind" wants him." "War" said.

"It seems like you're in trouble, you only have one life left another loss and you're done. Oh well, on to the next game it's…" Checka was saying before he was cut off by "Wind".

"It's called Calloot, you win by placing your pieces in the four corners of the game board, although I doubt you were about to explain the rules to me." "Wind" said.

"How did he know that. I just created that game literally a minute ago. There's no way he could know, unless he can read my..." Cheka thought.

"Mind? Yes it's something like that." "Wind" said out loud.

"Tch, he's clearly…" Cheka thought.

"Bluffing? I don't think so." "Wind" said.

"Winds" taunting had started to rattle Cheka, and it was only made worse when he easily beat him in the next game again. They were both down to one life each.

"I still don't believe that he can actually read my mind. His ability is wind, he can't have a second ability it's just some sort of trick. That being said I have to assume that he really can read my mind if I want to win this final round. Alright I've got it! Let's finish this!" Cheka thought.

"This game is simple, all you have to do is write a word on the card in front of you. We will then take turns guessing the other's word. First one to get the word right wins. Simple right?" Cheka said.

"Yes, it seems quite simple to me." "Wind" replied.

"Humph, fool. I make the rules I'll make it so that I go first. I can also use my ability to see what you write on your card. I've set this up so there's no way I can lose. Now let's see what's on your card!" Cheka thought.

רוּחַ

"What? What is that?" Cheka shouted suddenly.

"Oh? I assume that means you don't know what my card says. I guess it's my turn now then." "Wind" said.

"What did he write down? I have to figure out soon. Luckily I made preparations just in case, he won't be able to guess my word either." Cheka thought.

"Your word is buaidh, it means victory. Ironically it's my victory it's indicating." Wind" said.

"You shouldn't even know that word. How did you know?" Cheka asked.

"I study ancient languages in my spare time, I made a point to study ancient Orendish languages on the way here. Looks like it came in handy."Wind" said.

With his final life gone, "Wind" would now be able to deliver the final blow to his opponent. However, fearful for his life, Cheka tried to run away, but was quickly struck down by "Wind".

Skyward Javelin!!!

A javelin made of wind struck Cheka in the back and killed him. "A true warrior would never show his back during a battle." "Wind" said as he was declared the victor.
