Out of the three who fell down one couldn't get up quick enough and got his skull crushed under Al's spiked foot.

The eight running were not able to out run him but Al was letting them cause his goal was the cave settlement.

But after chasing them for something near 2 hours, killing five more and realising these creatures were smart enough to not take him to their lair he finished them off quickly.
