I wasn't surprised his mate was beautiful, they are all temptation

"Excuse me Mr. What's your problem?you are on my way." She said feeling discomfort at his clingy attitude

"You are Mine." He growled as Nicky pulled him from her

"Pardon his manners Miss, he's missing a love one." Nicky said with a smirk glaring at Frankie

"Yeah, I'm missing a loved one..." Frankie stared at her with unhidden emotions as she nodded

"Oh, so sorry... Sir." She said with a smile. I heard the voice that keeps doing things to my body as she called

"Angel.." She called the blonde

"Laila.." The blonde called as she hugged Laila. Seems like they are friends though.

"Angel?" Frankie asked the blonde smiling at her

"Yes.." She answered, I can't stop myself from glancing at Laila, as she pretended I was not there...

"I'm Franklin, you can call me Frankie." He said and shook her hand, she jolted back, staring at her hand while Franklin smirked, I guessed the mate bond thing, it happened to me too when I kissed Laila. I grunted

"Hey, stay away from me." She pouted stubbornly and followed Laila.

"Hey, who are you?" I asked as i heard her gasp

"Wait... You are... The C.E.O right? Christamos Greyold.... right?" She sounded thrilled

"Yeah, i am, so what are you doing here?" I felt proud though, someone recommended me, unlike Laila.

"Yeah.... I had always dreamt of meeting You sir, well i was posted here for my I.T sir," i swear i can feel the jealousy in the air, glancing at frankie, he seems uncomfortable

"Don't Worry man, i'm not gonna steal your mate." I mindlinked him.

"Well you can go in for your interview and Laila, you should learn to be cheerful." I said to her, sending a wink and she blushed and dragged Angel inside. I entered my car together with Franklin, Nicole and Pauline.

Laila's POV

Sometimes, I don't understand my body language. Most times it spites my boss and other times, it reacted to whatever he said.

I dragged Angel to Ma'am Anna's office. I knocked gently

"Come in," she said and I pushed Angel inside. I was so thrilled that I get to see her again after 5 years... I had so many questions to ask. She's the only one that could give me definite answers.

"Common Laila, we need to continue our work before twilight..." Sapphire said. I nodded and headed for my office, I continued the designs... Though I tried to push it away but I couldn't make out the reason for my boss coldness towards me earlier... Does he hates me, one can't hate their mate right?

I decided to put something in my stomach after finishing my new designs, I only hoped my boss likes this one... I headed to the restaurant in the company and ordered for cornish pasties and a glass of juice. I ate to my satisfaction and then headed back to my office. I was curve balled when I saw Angel, I hugged her. I have really missed them

"Angel, I missed you." I said

"We missed you too."

"What about Flake and Amore?" I asked sniffing

"They are fine, you know they were posted to different schools, they are far away now, we'll call them later." Angel said with a huge smile

"You came here for your I.T? I thought you were done with schooling?" I asked

"Next year, you know I didn't got my admission immediately, it was the upper year." She said and I giggled, Angel was never a lover of books, that's why she studied painting

"So what job did they offered you?" she asked me

"I'm a production designer, and you?" I saw her reaction, she was awesomed at my position, it was one big catch.

"Well, I'm a professional painter and I'd be working here hence forth." Angel said with excitement... I felt sapphire smiled

"Oh thats good, we get to work together now, oh thank God." I said

"You sound thrilled, it's just for a year dummy." Angel said

"Yeah, I'm happy I get to spend it with you silly." I retorted as well laughed

"So.. Where are you living now?" I asked Angel as her smile disappeared, I felt my heart broke "Angel? Is everything okay?" I asked cupping her face, looking deep into her eyes

"I can't keep this from you anymore Laila, please forgive me."she pleaded

"She's hiding something from you, something painful.." Sapphire said

"What is it you are hiding from me Angel? We are friends remember?" I cajoled her hair sweetly.

"Forgive me Laila, but I must say this..." She wiped her tears

"Then say it." I urged her

"Our village is being hijacked by a ruthless Hughes king... He claimed that your mother belongs to him, he said that your mother ran away from him when she was pregnant, and he won't leave else he sees his child... We are now captives to him and the government said There's nothing they could do... Your mother asked me to swear that I won't call you, but I have to, come back home Laila.." Angel said bathed in tears... I could feel Sapphire's rage as she growled

"Calm down sapphire, you don't have to show yourself to Angel, you might scare her." I said to sapphire

"No one dares to hurt my family and friends, let's go Laila." Sapphire said, she was angry and kept growling

"Are you alright sapphire?" Angel asked, noticing my predicament

"Yeah Angel, I'm fine." I felt my voice doubled with anger as I spoke and Angel flinched.

"We are going home.." I said to her.

"Did you have a place to stay?" I asked Angel who shook her head.

"You are coming with me." I commanded or was it sapphire, but the voice was filled with power and authority and I liked it at first.

"Sapphire, calm down, you'd scare her." I lashed at sapphire

"Hurry up Laila." She said, I knew sapphire very well, when it comes to our family, she's so protective and will never want any harm coming to them.

After the bell rang, signifying working hours are over,I took Angel to one of the bench.

"Wait for me here." I said to Angel and I took the elevator to Ma'am Anna's office, I need to inform her that I'm leaving for the mean time, so she could find me a replacement.

I knocked on the door

"Come in," she said, from the look of things, she was on the verge of leaving for home.

"Good day Ma'am," I greeted her

"Good day Laila, how are you?" She smiled at me, and I returned her smile, she's a good and understanding woman and I admired her for that

"Ma'am, I'd love to inform you that I'd be leaving for the mean time, my village had a little problem and they'd be needing me, so.. I'd want you to find a replacement." I informed her and she smiled at me.

"It's not in my power to decide, you have to inform the boss, before you leave, you should ensure you inform him." She said and at the mention of 'Boss' my heart skidded its beat

"You mean I must inform the boss of my movements?" I asked her a bit pissed as I looked at her

"I'm afraid so." She said as I turned to leave, how am I to inform him about my movements...

Sapphire growled in my head angrily

"Okay, okay, just calm down okay?" I said as I headed for the exit. I saw Angel and franklin kissing, it was a passionate and long kiss. I giggled and then feigned a cough. They break away from each other as Angel looked away in discomfort and I smiled at her... "Hello frank, Angel let's go, there's no time." I said to her.

"Where to?" Frank asked suddenly out of blue

"We're going back to our village." Angel said to him as he creased his brows cofussed.

"What happened?" He asked

"Don't say anything..." Sapphire commanded Angel as both their faces looked astounded and shocked.

"Sapphire, I asked you to keep your anger in check." I snipped at her.....
