CHAPTER 14

CHEN QI POV

I saw Hao Siyu leaving the dorm with some lunch boxes, so I turned to Su Xi, who still had the red wine bottle. "Do you like Hao Siyu?" I asked.

Su Xi looked shocked at first but then composed himself. "Is that the first thing you ask? You're right, but it's not the right time. Don't let her know yet," he warned.

He seemed really cautious. "Can I ask you something? Are you really gay?" I inquired, sitting down and holding the red wine bottle like a microphone.

Su Xi's face quickly changed from fear to disgust to anger, and finally, he answered me helplessly. "How can I be gay...?"

After a moment of silence, he seemed to understand the reason for my question. "Did Hao Siyu talk bad about me in front of you?"

I shook my head, trying to tell him the truth. "Hao Siyu did mention it, but she didn't mean it as an insult. She genuinely believed it."

"Isn't this even worse?" Su Xi sighed in frustration. "And why does she have this idea about me?"

"Isn't it because she wears men's clothes, and you're so polite to her? And didn't you ask her about Hua Zhe today?"

Su Xi widened his eyes in surprise, clearly shocked. "Hao Siyu really thought she had kept this a secret from me?

"I always thought she was teasing me by acting like a tomboy." Su Xi continued, shaking his head in disbelief.

"She does have confidence. Actually, it's really hard for people who don't know her well to figure out her true identity at first sight."I added, remembering how effortlessly Hao Siyu could fit in with the guys.

Su Xi paused for a moment and nodded in agreement. "Exactly. Initially, I didn't notice it. Her actions were careless, and her personality wasn't very refined. Also, her outfit really gave off a boyish vibe."

I couldn't resist my curiosity. "So, how did you eventually figure it out?"

"Well, Hao Siyu made it pretty obvious." He said bluntly. "She asked me to escort her back to the dormitory twice, both times to the girls' dormitory here. If I still couldn't catch on, then something would be seriously wrong with me. That's when I started suspecting she was trying to conceal her identity."

I couldn't help but feel really annoyed. "This silly Hao Siyu!" I clenched my teeth in irritation.

Su Xi chuckled at my reaction. "She's not silly, just too sure of herself in her disguise. But she's cute in her own way."

I actually believed the analysis before. If she wanted to disguise it, she should have been more careful!

If I trusted her judgment and helped with the analysis, wouldn't that mean I'm just as foolish as her?

After sending Su Xi away, I'll definitely give Hao Siyu a piece of my mind!

Just as I was angry, Su Xi suddenly asked."Do you think Hao Siyu listens to you?"

"It depends on the situation. She just sees me as her sister. What do you mean by that? If you're a man, just say it."

This is one of my tricks for dealing with men. Su Xi's attitude has been clear before. I can almost understand the purpose of his question now, but the determination required to take the next step is definitely not small, especially for someone with Su Xi's status.

Usually, I often use methods close to forcing confessions to make the other party speak honestly, but most people get scared and back off. To my surprise, Su Xi's response was far from typical.

"Come and help me win over Hao Siyu. He said simply.

Oh no, this plan doesn't work on Su Xi. I knew he might see through my plan, but I didn't expect it to happen like this. Su Xi has always been a mysterious figure at school, with admirers around but keeping a distance. Considering his reputation, I thought he must have many secret admirers. A playboy like him would easily see through my schemes.

But Su Xi's reaction was completely unexpected. He's like a newcomer to love! It's surprising to see this at our university. The two popular students have no love experience? Are these two idols actually inexperienced? And could they both have feelings for Hao Siyu?

Regarding Su Xi's request, I could only answer helplessly, "No, Hua Zhe and I are good friends. If I'm going to help anyone, it's him. He's been secretly in love with Hao Siyu since childhood."

Su Xi's eyes twitch, and he clenched his teeth at the mention of Hua Zhe's name. "So, Hua Zhe's target is also Hao Siyu?"

"Really?" I was a bit sensitive to Su Xi's wording and couldn't help but ask, "Do you know Hua Zhe?"

Su Xi denied it: "I don't know him. I just heard Hao Siyu mention him today. He seems to be about as popular as me at school. I thought that if he could be compared to me, his taste wouldn't be much different. Maybe he is also pursuing Hao Siyu, and it turns out he is."

Oh my God! Are you showing off? To me, you're clearly creating a black mark on your history! If you still have trouble, please stop flaunting your affection for an outsider, okay?

Su Xi clearly isn't a fool, so why did he make such a foolish judgment? Could it be that when you like someone, your IQ drops? It seems I was right to insist on not falling in love.

His judgment is entirely based on the concept that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, which is not normal at all. Su Xi's logic was bizarre and unexpected, adding an extra layer of complexity to the situation.

However, Hua Zhe really likes Hao Siyu. It would take a lot of effort for me to explain to Su Xi that his judgment was wrong. I didn't have the patience for that.

So, I started to avoid wasting time with Su Xi, as if I were afraid his foolishness would rub off on me. "Anyway, I won't side against my friends. Instead of trying to win me over, you might as well spend time figuring out how to apologize to Hao Siyu sincerely so she can forgive you."

Su Xi stopped for a moment, thinking about what I said. Then he suggested, "...You can pick one of Louis' special bags. I know the designer, and I promise you'll love it."

Didn't this guy say he doesn't like people who give gifts? What he's doing now goes against what he said. It's clear he feels threatened by Hua Zhe's stronger bond with Hao Siyu.

It seems he knows that Hua Zhe, his rival, has a closer relationship with Hao Siyu, so he feels the need to do something, right? Even though Hua Zhe isn't as rich as Su Xi, with his scholarship and top rank in school, he will surely succeed in the future. Relationships aren't always about money and power, but more about shared moments.

However, in terms of experience, Su Xi isn't as decisive as Hua Zhe, who's been Hao Siyu's childhood sweetheart. Originally, out of loyalty, I shouldn't have agreed to help Hua Zhe, but no woman can resist the lure of a high-end bag.

"Damn... deal."

Su Xi's eyes lit up, and he raised his fist in celebration. "Thank you! You won't regret this."

"Let me state in advance that I'm just helping to provide you with opportunities." To avoid seeming like I'm selling Hao Siyu to Su Xi, I started to lay out terms with him. "But I declare beforehand that I won't influence her decision, and I won't interfere in Hao Siyu's affairs."

Su Xi patted his chest and reassured, "No worries. How could I harm her when I can protect her?" Then, Su Xi suddenly looked worried and asked, "By the way, how long has it been since Hao Siyu went to heat up the food? Why hasn't she returned?"

"Oh, I forgot to mention this earlier," I said calmly, "Hao Siyu has made many enemies among the girls because she's often seen with Hua Zhe. Just now, you knocked on our dormitory door for a long time, which probably caused a lot of hostility. Maybe someone's causing trouble in the activity area right now? She won't let me help, but it's different for you."

"You should have told me this earlier!" Su Xi exclaimed, his eyes wide with concern. Without another word, he ran out of the room, as if he was about to put out a fire.

I watched him go, shaking my head at the silliness of the situation. Su Xi, the usually calm and distant heartthrob, was now rushing to help Hao Siyu like a knight in shining armor. It was almost funny how love could make even the most logical people into impulsive, silly wrecks.
