did you steal something?

Amusing gemstone store.

In a VIP room.

Picking up a glowing stone, James couldn't hide his excitement. "Goodness, John, how did you manage to lay your hands on this treasure?" James asked.

"Just luck," the big-bellied man named John replied. He didn't dare mention that he bought it for a young man. He knew James very well. If he said so, it would be difficult for him to be a business partner with the man. He knew James would find him and propose a business deal that might involve an amount that someone who is only averagely wealthy cannot afford. For this reason, he was hesitant to let James know the details, even though he was not too sure what the person looked like or if he would agree to any proposed business, he wouldn't just ruined this just because of is uncertainty.

James looked at John and smiled. "You are not willing to tell?" He asked clearly knowing the answer.

John shrugged. "I only have two more with me, plus the one in your hand, making three. So the three is six billion," John went out of the topic.

"Three!" James' eyes widened. "What good fortune! Pack the three for me, and I will settle with you later," he said.

John smiled and packaged the stones, then he handed them to James.

James' smile widened as he received the package. "Make sure you inform me immediately when you find another real and rich stone like this," he said.

"Sure, you didn't tell me that before I called you," John replied.

"That's good," James replied and entered his car, then drove away at high speed.

After James left, John removed two shining stones from his pocket. "Thankfully, I only said I have three. I knew he would want all," he murmured to himself and chuckled. "Let me try if I can raise the price higher than two billion," he said and went back to the store.

Devin Mansion.

Emmy had just finished setting the table and was now packing small plates filled with food into a big bag. "It's the weekend already; I should deliver food for my children," she murmured to herself and zipped the bag. "Hmm, forget about that pervert; he would think that I went to meet my boyfriend. No need to inform him," she said to herself, sneakingly heading to the entrance. Just as she opened the door, she found James, who seemed to want to knock on the door.

Boom! An alarm bell rang in Emmy's head, and her heart started racing.

James saw Emmy and was about to greet her when his eyes landed on the big black bag that Emmy was hugging. With Emmy's expression, she resembled a thief who wanted to run away after stealing all the expensive things, and James cast a suspicious gaze at Emmy.

"I'm doomed! I was caught red-handed," Emmy thought to herself. "Mr...," it took Emmy some time before she remembered his name, "Why are you here, Mr. James?"

James frowned. "What is inside that bag? Did you steal something?" He raised his brows.

Emmy frowned back. The food was made by herself, and the ingredients for the food were bought by her. She just borrowed Devin's kitchen to cook it and his plates to serve food for her children. It's not like she wouldn't return them. What on earth did he mean by "Did you steal something?"

Emmy was feeling displeased but she didn't comment. "I should have known that you are here for the boss. Sorry for my earlier silly question. The boss is in the study," she said while cursing him inwardly.

James was about to reply when Devin's voice sounded from the stairs. "I was about to call you. Don't just stand there; come here immediately," Devin's words were directed to James, but his eyes were fixed on Emmy's back.

Hearing Devin's sudden voice, Emmy dared not look back and just hugged the bag tighter against her chest.

James cast a meaningful gaze at Emmy before going up.

Emmy breathed a sigh of relief and was about to relax when Devin's voice sounded again. "Make me some tea," Devin said and left.

"Yes," Emmy replied. When she no longer sensed any movement from James on the stairs, she closed the door, turned around, and scanned the whole stairs to confirm that no one was there before breathing a sigh of relief and heading back to the kitchen.

Inside Devin's study room.

James slammed his head on the table loudly; his voice showed his concern and anger."Open your eyes, Devin! That girl is not the Emmy we know. She is nothing but a robber; she wants to rob you! I swear I saw the bag in her hands. Check your things, check if anything is missing," James exclaimed.

"She isn't," Devin calmly replied.

Are you saying this, Devin!. "James stood up instantly. "Are you blinded by love to the point of losing your mind? That girl is a scammer, Devin!" James shouted.

"Have a seat," Devin calmly replied, but James was staring at him as if he was crazy. "Alright, the bag in her hand contains food," Devin said after a long sigh.

"Food?" James' anger turned into surprise immediately, and he found himself a seat. "Tell me more," he finally calmed down.

"Here," Devin passed his tab to James.

James took it and saw the video of Emmy dragging food stuff inside. She went to the kitchen and hid the stuff. The video jumped to the scene when Emmy dragged out the food ingredients, which were inside a heavy bag, and started putting the ingredients on the table. One glance, and one would know that the ingredients are not that healthy and very cheap. She started cooking around 3 am in the morning. After cooking the cheap food, she cooked another meal, which was fine and rich, no doubt the rich foods is intended for Devin. Then the video shifted to where Emmy was packing the cheap food inside a black bag, which was the bag that James Saw.

Watching the video, James rubbed his forehead and returned the phone. "Does that boyfriend of hers worth all this?" James roughly understood the whole scene.

"Not only did she wake up earlier than anyone, she even ate once a day," Devin commented in a sour mood.

Seeing Devin's sour mood, James sighed. "Seems like I will have to visit this boyfriend of hers, perhaps he did not love her like she did and will betray her after being tempted with money," he thought to himself in determination.

"Why don't you charge Mr. White for the gemstone and force him to work with us?" James changed the topic to lighten Devin's mood.

Hearing James' words, Devin became serious. "Any idea?" He asked.

Smiling slyly, James brought out the packaged stones he had bought and put them on the table. "This is more than enough."

Seeing the stones, Devin was shocked; he picked up a stone and examined it. "This is an original stone," he said in surprise.

"Indeed," James nodded. "I bought the three from John, but that guy didn't tell me where he gets them from," he said.

"It doesn't matter, this one is more than enough," Devin replied and put the stones inside his drawer.

"I still have some important business, I won't entertain you," James said

"No problem," Devin replied and James prepared to leave.

Just as James opened the door, he saw Emmy walking in, holding two teacups in her hands.

Without warning, James took one cup, drank the tea in one go, and cast Emmy a sweet smile before returning the cup and leaving.

Emmy was dumbfounded. "Isn't this guy suspecting me earlier? Why is he smiling at me now?" she wondered. "Well, I should know that anyone who's with Mr. Pervert is not normal," she thought to herself as she entered the study, placed the teacup on the table, and left immediately.
