'My soul has been tempered. Does that mean the number has changed?', Luke wondered looking at the message.
As soon as the question came to him a prompt opened in his mind.

'Huh, I guess I know how to get stronger now, this really is like a video game', Luke thought bitterly.
It seemed that the strength the previous screen had told him about came from killing beasts. He paid special attention to the new skill however, the one titled omnipotence, the description made him frown.
'System Break? What the hell does that mean, is that what this screen is called?", he questioned with a sigh.
Luke decided he would need to find somebody to answer all his questions, well if there was anybody. For all he knew he could have been brought to some post-apocalyptic world, where everyone had turned into the weird husk zombie things.
Forcing himself to stand, the movement came easier to him now that he wasn't being attacked by a monster. Luke began to process everything that happened to him, namely the two most surprising things.
The first was that he could see, kind of, and he had a hunch as too why. The new ability omnipotence seemed to be the likely culprit, as it was the only thing that had changed since the new sense could appear. While Luke was more than relieved that he had some way to "see" once again, the feeling of his new ability was almost too hard to comprehend. In fact, while he kept calling it "seeing", it was closer related to when he gazed at the weird system screen thing.
Moreover, the skill was called omnipotence, and while he was able to see everything in his close vicinity to a extraordinary amount of detail. Luke could not see past what he assumed to be ten or so meters, although perhaps that would change as he grew in strength. That idea was almost one that filled him with anxiety, especially at the thought of one day truly becoming omnipotent.
'Wouldn't that make me a god, or like melt my brain', he thought in confusion.
Not wanting to worry himself without reason, Luke turned to the other matter that had happened to him. The one that was far more obvious than the first, he had been attacked by a real zombie. The system had called it a husk, but the creature was very similar to the zombies from his world's fiction. Luke had felt how the beast's heart had not been beating, meaning it was dead, or rather only its brain worked.
A hundred questions came to him at once about the beast, though without a way to get the answers he was stuck in the dark. Still, he knew there was a chance he would face more of those creatures, especially if they were really like the zombies from his world.
Luke didn't know much about the new world he was sent too, but he knew one thing and that was that he wanted to survive. Doing so meant learning as much as he could about his situation, and anything that may pose a danger too him.
Noting this, Luke began to run through what he had noticed about the creature. First was that he could see it's brain activity, or at least some sort of movement in its brain. While Luke wasn't an overly smart individual, he did know that the nervous system ran on some sort of pulse system in the brain. Though the idea of being able to see some ones brain waves, or whatever was insane.
Luke frowned at that, realizing that being able to perceive brain waves was no where near as crazy as having a dead man attack you.
Continuing on with his thought process, he noted another feature about the creature. One that he hadn't had the time to notice until the fight had ended, and that was the creatures lack of noise. In fact the creature had not made any noise at all from the start of the fight to the end of its life, not even letting out a groan as its skull caved in. In fact the only sound emitted from the creature had been its heavy footsteps.
'Creepy.'
Furthermore, there was the fact that the creature had not been able to see. Luke hadn't been sure before the fight, but now that he could take a second to think over the event it seemed clear to him. The reason the beast had moved towards him was because it heard the sound of the door following. Then even upon seeing him it had been slow to react, at first Luke had thought this might be because the creature's brain was too deteriorated to work properly. However after witnessing the beasts speed during the fight, Luke was sure this wasn't the case.
That left one conclusion, that the beast as only attacked him after it had heard him make sound. Based on the fact the creature hadn't come to attack him after his chains snapped, its hearing wasn't too good either. Meaning that even though the creatures were terrifying, and obviously dangerous, they would be easy to avoid if he was smart. Assuming all the creatures were blind like the one he had killed of course.
Curious, Luke focused on the beasts eyes, both of which were cloudy pools of grey and lacking any moisture. It seemed as if they had dried up long ago, and judging by the beasts ragged skin likely due to dehydration.
'Gross. Though I'm blind too now so it's not like I have much room to talk', Luke thought wryly.
Briefly he worried that his eyes might end up drying out too, though he supposed it didn't really matter to him at that moment.
Continuing to focus on the creature, he made a note of the various dents and chunks of flesh that were missing from its body. None of the wounds bled of course as the creatures black blood seemed to be almost completely dry, giving it a thick slime-like texture. Yet it wasn't the blood that interested him but rather the wounds themselves, as their presence meant that something had obviously inflicted them. Unless of course the creature had done it to itself, Luke didn't know enough about the beast to tell.
Deciding there wasn't much more he could learn, Luke turned away from the beast and left stepped out into the hallway outside his cell. There was a long hallway that led down to either side of him. Both hallways continued past the point of his omnipotence, meaning he wasn't sure which way he needed to go to find an exit.
As he was studying the hallway another thought occurred to him, and that was how dark the environment was. When he had been able to see the cell in the traditional sense, he had noted it was dark, though now that he was outside the cell he found that to be a vast understatement. He could sense the thick darkness, so devoid of color that there would be no way for him to see if his eyes had worked. It almost seemed as though the cell itself had emitted its own source of light, though that source of light was nowhere to be found in the hallway.
Although that wasn't truly a problem for him, as his omnipotence still allowed him to sense everything around himself with perfect clarity. Somehow, he knew it was dark, too dark to see and yet he could make out everything around him with absolute clarity.
Turning back to the task at hand, Luke made a note of the fact the creature he had killed had wondered over from the left. That could mean there were other creatures down that way, but it could also mean there could have been some sort of exit.
It seemed to him that going left would likely be the most dangerous path, considering he had already met a monster from that way. However, if he was being honest with himself, he had to acknowledge that no matter where he was in this place he would potentially be in danger. Moreover, if the creature had come from the left, there was a higher likelihood of there being some sort of exit that way.
Sighing heavily at his choice, Luke turned to the left and started to move cautiously forward.
Walking without using his eyes started off as touch, but thanks to his muscle memory and the fact he had been walking for all his life he was able to get the hang of it quickly. He figured it would take time to get used to his new body, and yet even with the sight it seemed to feel almost natural to him. As if he instinctually was aware of how to coexist with the never-ending stream of knowledge flooding into his brain. In a way it wasn't much different from normal seeing, only more complex and detailed than eyesight.
Towards the end of the prison hallway, he quickly began to notice a change in the cells. In the area he had been in before the bricks hall all been firm, filled with small inconsistencies and flaws, yet overall, in relatively sturdy shape. As Luke continued down the hall however, that fact began to change slowly. Cracks had formed on most of the bricks, and more and more amounts of gravel appeared on the ground. Soon there were entire bricks missing from the walls, strewn messily in the hallways.
Every cell Luke passed was empty, save for two rusted empty manacles and the chains that connected them to their cell wall. Though the chains themselves seemed to be deteriorating as he walked, with each new chain he passed in worse shape than the last.
After a while of walking Luke stopped, taking in the knowledge of what lay before him. It was a cell, only its bars had been completely destroyed, the rough metal lay flat on the ground covered in stone. Inside the cell the back wall looked to have been shattered, as if a truck or possibly a train had driven into it at full speed. The hole that had once been the wall was near ten feet in diameter and led out to a wide room.
Curious, Luke began to move into the cell when suddenly he froze.
On the other side of the hole, hanging from the ceiling just out of view was a hideous monster.
