"An endless fortune, sir, are you serious?!"
Hearing this, the downtrodden man's expression changed instantly, his face lighting up as he looked at Cliff in astonishment.
Mabel, upon hearing this, felt a surge of hope. Compared to anything else, her daily fear of ghosts and spirits had her desperate for the power to eliminate them. With such power, she wouldn't have to live in constant terror, fearing that her ability to see spirits would be exposed and lead to her demise.
"Haha, I have no reason to deceive you. Earning money in the Reincarnation Space is straightforward. Just a few points and many are willing to exchange cash for them. Unlike useless gold in the real world, here, points and power are the true currency!"
"Of course, obtaining points isn't easy, and regardless of what you want, your main concern should be survival. Remember, the Reincarnation Space is far from a benevolent place."
"Similarly, maintaining a kind heart here will only lead to you being devoured quickly!"
As he spoke, Cliff's face twisted into a sinister grin as he looked at the group.
Seeing Cliff's expression and recalling his earlier ruthless act against the thug, everyone knew he wasn't joking.
However, Vegeta was somewhat surprised, not expecting Cliff to explain so much about the survival rules of the Reincarnation Space. This alone showed that Cliff was somewhat "kind."
"Hehe, now, I'll give you your first lesson!"
Just as Vegeta mentally "praised" Cliff, his demeanor changed abruptly.
The middle-aged man, a low-level office worker, felt a shiver as he noticed Cliff's greedy gaze. He had seen this look too many times from his superiors, each time costing him dearly, including his wife...
"Now, I will sign a contract with you. The contract is simple: I will offer you some protection in this mission, but you must hand over 50% of your earnings after the mission."
"Of course, you can choose not to sign, but then what happens next is uncertain."
Seeing the uncertainty on their faces, Cliff's smile grew cruel.
Realizing Cliff's intentions, the group quickly decided that surviving the mission was more important than unknown rewards. Although 50% seemed high, they would at least retain half of their gains.
Cliff demanded 50% not out of kindness but because, without special tools, 50% was the maximum a contract could extract.
"I'll sign!"
The office worker was the first to respond, his face full of obsequiousness as he approached Cliff.
"You're quite sensible!"
Cliff looked pleased with the man's compliance.
"I have a question. How do we sign this contract, and can it be absolutely guaranteed?"
As Cliff was about to proceed with the office worker, Vegeta interjected with his query.
"Haha, newbies indeed. In the Reincarnation Space, contracts are absolute unless you have special tools to nullify them."
"But such tools are incredibly rare, and even high-level Reincarnators who've completed ten missions may not have them. Even if they do, they would use them sparingly, not wasting them lightly."
"As for signing the contract, I'll kindly explain. Besides some contract tools that can sign contracts anytime, temporary contracts can be signed during preparation periods."
With a mocking smile, Cliff diligently explained to Vegeta.
Satisfied with the information, Vegeta began to explore further while continuing to observe Cliff's actions.
"Now, tell me your Reincarnator number!"
Cliff directed at the office worker.
"Sir, what is a Reincarnator number?"
The office worker asked, confused.
"Look at your Reincarnation Watch, your personal information panel has your Reincarnator number!"
Seeing the office worker's cluelessness, Cliff frowned but explained patiently.
"Oh, sir, my Reincarnator number is 006669."
After fumbling around, the office worker cautiously stated his number.
"Good. Reincarnation Space, I wish to form a temporary team with Reincarnator 006669 for this mission, claiming 50% of his earnings."
As Cliff spoke, a notification from the Reincarnation Space rang in the office worker's ears.
"You should have received the prompt. Now, just accept it."
Cliff prompted.
"Yes, sir."
The office worker, fearful of disobeying, quickly complied.
