Spirit Prince (8)

In the audience room, King Alden and King Luther were talking about everything that had happened to his son, Fel. King Luther paled when he heard that former Earl Rottrett kidnapped Fel while they were touring around Efros. He knew that bastard's claws reached far, but he didn't think they were this stupid and long!

"I apologize for my former subordinates' atrocities, King Alden. The knights have also gone to the other nobles' estates to find any illegal slaves. If you want to punish that bastard, I will allow you to do so."

"It seems you are the only good apple in a barrel full of rotten ones. If you ever find a bunch of good apples and want to get rid of the rotten ones, be sure to let me know and I would kindly help you." King Alden grinned but his aura was murderous.

King Alden and King Luther negotiated the date for the former Earl-Rottrett's execution. It was going to be a grand occasion.

****

On the day of the former Earl's execution, many of the survivors showed up in the city's plaza to watch as one of King Alden's subordinates did the honor to cut the man's head off.

Many of the survivors who were in the city cried and cursed the man for everything he had done. With the bodies they found in another part of the basement, they were identified with magic and sent back to any of the loved ones who were still alive. A lot of tears of relief and grief were shed on that day, but the bastard who did this was finally dead.

[*Chirp Chirp* Side Mission: Kill Earl Rottrett has been completed. Good job, Host. I know I don't have to ask, but I will anyway. Let's at least keep some formalities. Would you like to stay here until your natural death?]

'Thank you System 225, and yes, I do.'

[Understood, enjoy your stay in this world, and I will see you in the System space when you are done. If you need me, just call out to me.]

To be able to relax and do as he pleased, was what he enjoyed the most. He also was able to enjoy it with his lover, God System. He didn't need to ask for more.

Fel went back to watching the execution and saw that the bastard's head finally fell into the basket. He and everyone who suffered from this man felt relieved that the former Earl was finally dead. His father was very efficient in getting things done quickly.

Liam, who watched Fel's changing expressions, grabbed his hand. "Justice has finally been served."

"Yes, it has..."

"Fel, what will you be doing now?"

Liam and Fel had an unspoken agreement when it came to their feelings. They didn't have to say anything to one another, but they somehow knew what the other one was thinking or planning. Liam didn't want to part from Fel but he knew Fel had to go back with his parents.

"I will be going back with my parents, but I will definitely come back to you."

"Promise?"

"Yes, I promise." Fel kissed Liam on the cheek.

Liam could feel a bit of magic course through his body.

"I will give you this blessing so that we will meet again. I will always know where you are as you will always know where I am. And when the time comes for us to meet again, be ready to take my hand in marriage. Got it?"

The blessing he just gave Liam was a temporary thing. Spirits have another "blessing" he could do to link his soul to Liam's, called Life-Bound Spirit Contract. It needed some preparation but he also wanted to hear Liam's opinion before doing this contract. Not only would they be linked by their soul, but Liam's measly lifespan would also be extended, and would die when he died. Liam was the Crown Prince so it was best to hear what he thought first before doing anything. He also had to prepare just in case.

He didn't know how long he would stay in the Spirit Realm, but he hoped that Liam would wait for him.

Liam couldn't contain his feelings and hugged him. He buried his head into Fel's shoulders, his arms wrapped around him as if scared that Fel would disappear at that moment. He never thought that the little run-in in the basement would change his life this way. He never thought that he would feel this way for someone.

"I love you so much, Fel, that's why you must come back to me no matter what."

He always felt like something was missing in his soul like something should've been there. But when he met Fel, that piece of his soul filled in, growing its branches around him, encasing him, tying him in, and keeping him whole.

Liam was willing to give Fel anything and everything he had. He would give up his position just so that he could be by Fel's side. Crown Prince? His little brother, even his little sister, was capable.

"Fel, I will wait for you, and when you come back to me, we will get married right away. You can't take back your promise and if you try to, I will cling on to your leg and never let go even if you try to throw me off the edge of the continent."

Fel hugged him back as if he was afraid that Liam would disappear the moment he let go.

"I love you too, Liam. Also, I could say the same to you, oh-so-great Crown Prince. Be sure not to get tempted by any pretty flowers or butterflies that might flutter your way."

"How could I be tempted when someone as beautiful and graceful as you flared out his beautiful feathers and danced himself around my heart and into my soul."

System 225 dug himself a hole hearing how cheesy God System was... His image! Why do they keep trying to ruin his image of God System!!!

On the day Fel left with his parents, Liam vowed that he would finish everything that he needed to finish, give his position to one of his siblings, and then enjoy his life with Fel. Why would he need to spend his life on the throne when he could have fun with Fel instead? He didn't know about the Life-Bound Spirit Contract, but he was already ready to drop everything and run away with Fel.

He wanted to take Fel out to see the world. Not the ugly that he saw, but the beauty the world contained.

He worked and trained his siblings for months on end, determined to give the Crown to one of them. Even the King couldn't stop his stubborn son, who he wanted to kick a couple of times.

The Queen, his mother, was surprisingly okay with what Liam wanted, even giving her blessings.

As for Liam's best friend, Jasper, Liam tossed him to the side with Adelia. Adelia was relaxing with Jasper in his country as she learned how to use light magic to help people.

Meanwhile, Fel, who quickly got to the Spirit Realm with his parents, was going through vigorous training. Even if they wanted to baby him, they needed him to be strong enough to never be kidnapped again.

Fel pretended he had no idea how to use offensive magic and diligently trained. He was soon written off as a genius after a while.

In his free time, he got everything ready to make his Life-Bound Spirit Contract with Liam.

He was getting it ready just in case. He wanted to go see Liam, ask him for his opinion, and if the man said yes, take him back to the Spirit Realm where they would get it done in front of his family. They didn't need to do this contract, but he felt reassured. There was also another bonus to doing these contracts.

For the Spirit, if their partner was also powerful, the amount of magic energy they could condense in their core increased. The stronger their core, the higher the ranking the Spirit would be. But Spirits usually made a Life-Bound Spirit Contract when they had fallen in love with someone who was not a Spirit.

If a Spirit falls for another Spirit, like Fel's parents, they would go through another ritual to increase their core power. That ritual was called Spirit-Bound Contract. It was rather simple compared to the Life-Bound Spirit Contract.

Fel had to collect a few things. The first thing he needed to do was to collect three fruits. The first fruit was the Crimson Dragon fruit, the second was a fruit that could only be found in glaciers called the Ice Mango, a giant mango the size of two heads, and the third fruit was called the Jejule Fruit. It looked like an apple but the inside was mushy and tasted the best when frozen.

After finding these fruits, he mashed them up to make them into a paint-like substance. This would then be used to draw the magic circle.

He also had to create a paintbrush. The wood had to be made from a tree that had soaked in magical energy for 1000 years minimum. Then the bristles had to be made of the hair of a magical beast that looked like a horse. This magical beast could only be found in the Spirit Realm and they were super fierce.

After that, he found a good amount of mithril and had it forged with a continuous stream of magic energy. The final product was in the shape of a small ball about the size of a person's palm.

And once he gathered these materials, he sat down with his family to let them know the situation.

"You want to, what?!" Marcel, Fel's older brother, shouted before he could continue with his explanation, "You want to do a Life-Bound Spirit Contract with some questionable figure who supposedly saved you while you were in captivity? Isn't that just transference or even Stockholm syndrome?"

Fel couldn't say that Liam didn't save him after telling everyone that he was saved by his man.

"It's not like that at all. I can just tell he's my soulmate. That's why I want to be with him and he wants to be with me too." Fel pouted because this was how the original got what he wanted.

Seeing his pout, Marcel's anger faltered but he didn't want his baby brother to get taken away by some strange man who just happened to save him. After the kidnapping, Marcel became extremely protective of Fel and made sure he was protected at all times, even in the Spirit Realm.

"Fel, don't be upset." Queen Chanel patted her youngest son's head lovingly. "Marcel is just worried for you after everything that has happened."

King Alden agreed with his wife, "That's right. Also, even though we know Prince Liam, Marcel doesn't, which is why he's worried."

"Then Marcel, you should come with me to meet Liam! After you meet him, it should be fine, right?" Fel looked up at his big brother with the biggest puppy dog eyes he could muster up. His eyes looked a little wet like he was holding in his tears.

"Fine! I will come with you but you aren't allowed to do the contract unless you are here and we agree to it." Marcel agonizingly said as he covered Fel's eyes that were piercing into his soul.

"That was the plan anyway." Fel smiled happily and hugged his brother and parents.

He got all of his stuff ready and waited for his brother who was scrambling to get his things together.

Fel knew it was better to just agree to all these things because arguing was a pain. Better to agree now and save him from the trouble that comes later…

While he waited for Marcel, his mother and father brought him into a hug. Looked at his face a few times and gave him lots of pats as they took rare items out of who knows where.

"Remember, if you see someone sketchy; if someone tries to touch you funny; if someone dares to even look at you funny, you off them!" King Alden said as he gave Fel a very rare artifact bracelet that would immediately let them know if he was in trouble and save his life three times.

"Your father is right! If they dare to even breathe funny in your vicinity, you get rid of them, understand?" Queen Chanel put a necklace on him. It was another very rare artifact that could tell the wearer that there was poison near him, and if he ingested it, it would dispel it immediately. This could be used many times.

Fel wanted to facepalm so hard. Why were they like this? But he couldn't hate them. It made him feel warm inside. A different kind of warm, but it made him happy.

"Okay Mama, Papa, I will listen to you."

"That's good, sweetheart. Make sure you listen to your big brother, too!" Queen Chanel hugged him really tightly. She was so worried about her youngest going out but she knew she couldn't stop him.

King Alden patted his head. "You must stay by his side no matter what. And make sure you contact us through the orb once a day."

The orb was a communication device created during the time of the alliance. It was so that the rulers would be able to talk with one another and discuss plans and treaties without having to leave their country. They could see images of each other like a holographic screen, so it was very convenient.

Fel really didn't want all these things but he could not say no. Where in the world was Marcel? Hurry and finish so this husband can pick up his husband as quickly as possible!

Before Kind Alden and Queen Chanel could give him anything else, Prince Marcel came out. He had a sword at his side and artifacts like Fel's on him. It was like they were preparing for war or something.

"Let's go, baby brother. Let's go see this Prince of yours."
