Finding A Sword

It was the middle of the night.

White was traveling through the desolate land, fruitless. He knew he couldn't keep this up for long, he hadn't eaten for almost a day, making him troubled. But he also didn't plan to stop, for some reason he also felt very comfortable in this environment, although it was desolated.

"What kind of energy is flowing in this world?" He said looking at his hands.

He had been questioning himself but could not come to a solution.

He had tried to control the energy but couldn't, he thought there had to be certain conditions one had to fulfill before being able to do that.

He looked at the Unity on his token and thoughts of the primal seeds.

'Masters are beings that control the energy of heaven and earth and are seen as miracles performers. But before they become one, they all have to take the master's trial.' thought White.

According to his guess based on all the recent information he received, a master depended on these primal seeds to ascend from a mortal to a being like themselves. He also remembers the overseer's last reminder that the higher one could raise the Unity level the more benefit one could gain before or after becoming a master.

"Everything shall be revealed after I find these primal seeds. "

Hmm..?!

As he was deciding which path to take, he heard some sounds in the distance in which he looked curiously

In his tattered robes and thin old boots, White followed the trial of the sound. His pale white eyes peered into the lands that were blanketed by a pale moonlight and searched for the source.

After some moments, he reached an area that indicated signs of a fight, and not a friendly one at that.

The ground was devastated, trees were broken, huge prints and scratch marks were visible on the ground and blood was splattered everywhere. Looking carefully, anyone could tell that a terrifying beast was on the loose in this land.

And in an area not far away, an area that was covered in blood as two bodies of people lay there unmoving.

White checked the surroundings and looked at the area, what he saw was enough to make any normal person lose their composure, but he just watched normally as the bodies of both men lay there.

The scene was as gruesome as it could be; one of them had their waist detached and his innard scattered onto the ground. The other had his head smashed to a pulp with huge chunks of flesh missing from his body and bite marks all over his body. They both didn't have a peaceful death, their eyes were wide open and remnants of their despair and resentment could still be seen.

Although the scene was brutal, it wasn't on his head now, because he could feel that the sound was getting nearer. He could also see the blood was still fresh and that he was closed.

At this point he didn't sprint anymore, carefully following the blood trail he moved stealthily, and it wasn't long before he came in contact with another part of a human body. White curiously glances at it before noticing it to be a severed arm.

White pauses, because he sees that the hand of the severed arm is holding onto the hilt of a blood-soaked sword.

His eyebrows raised slightly, he had been in need of a sword and now he saw one?!

"It seems heaven does have eyes! It gives the needy its needs!" he emotionally said. Whether he believed it or not was another matter.

Wiping the blood off the sword, he couldn't help but grin.

"A good sword!"

The sword was about a meter long with extremely sharp edges and a solid build. Its body has some patterns and a rune at its base. Holding it, he felt like it was the extension of his arm and feet.

He swung the sword a few times and knew it was an expensive piece just from how it performed, getting his hand on something like this in this desolate place was his fortune

Holding his newfound sword, he disappeared with glee into the forest.

On a mountainside, beside a forest was a bloody scene of four humans and a beast.

A figure of a grey-robed girl and a bulky youth lay in the distance; their conditions were unknown. There had been originally four, fighting against the beast but the two had already been injured, making them incapable of battle.

In the distance, there was a beast with two familiar savage-like eyes and a body that looked like a bear, but without its fur. Its body is more than three meters long, radiating an intense fierce aura.

This beast brought fear and terror to this group of people. It stood ready to pounce on the girl standing with a sword.

The group felt regretful, they wished they wouldn't have come to this part of the land, and went to others instead. The thing that they encountered was almost impossible to encounter in this part of the land. To think their luck was this bad, if there was a medicine for regret, they would have chock in it.

"Aizu, how long can you keep that up for?! Run!"

A torn voice came from the body of a young man lying on the ground. Blood covered his body and his whole right arm was missing, his voice was bleak and his life was on the verge of being extinguished.

"Fan!" Hearing the weak voice the girl Aizu couldn't help but tear up.

Her body was torn on many parts and blood flowed. Her arms had gone numb defending herself from the beast's attack, but still stood; if not all of them would die.

She stood there with her limping legs and her numb dainty hands holding a meter-long sword with green patterns and a rune at the base of the sword.

At this moment she didn't have the luxury of shedding a single tear for him

Woosh!@!

A huge claw descended from above, overshadowing her small frame making it as though the sky was falling.

She didn't try to block such a mighty attack with her sword, instead, she leaped back deflecting the claw with her sword. The attack missed her, hitting the ground, but she had overused this technique and the beast seemed to expect this move as its other claw struck at her from the sides instantly, not giving her the chance to react.

She was shocked by the follow-up attack, knowing the beast had adapted to her defensive stance, but fortunately, her sword was on her side which managed to defend against the sharp claws from penetrating her body, but unfortunately, not the force of the attack.

Phui!

A fierce force struck her, causing it to rocket several meters before smashing into a tree.

Boom!

The tree swayed and cracked from the force,

Like a broken rack-doll, her body fell to the ground; looking extremely miserable.

She looked at the beast in despair, If not for the soft armor under her robes, all the bones on her body would have been broken.

If only her Unity wasn't at zero, she might have had a chance, but… regret was all she could feel now.

Now that the last fighter had fallen, all of them were sure to die.

The other two in the distance, with blood all over their body looked as if their only hope was crushed, the despair in their eyes grew exponentially.

The mad beast ignored the girl and approached the closest person to it.

Fan, the young man who had lost an arm and was on the verge of death saw the mad beast approaching. He was already prepared to die but seeing the maw of this nightmarish monster, he cried out in fear, struggling to crawl.

At this point, he couldn't even end his life and felt something nightmare touch his soul.

"AHH! He-lp– Aizu, help please ahhhhhhh!@!" No matter what he shouted or did, it was useless.

The beast chewed down on his waist, severing his body in half, and crushed his body into pieces before devouring him.

Seeing such a scene, the three expressions all changed again. The other two started crawling away in terror but it was only a fool's effort.

While Aizu's face was streaming down with tears and unconcealed terror. She wet herself seeing the monster start approaching with the blood of her friend dripping from its mouth.

In no time, the mad beast was upon her, it gazed at her with its savage-like eyes and opened his mow to bite down.

She wishes she should've died earlier instead of dying in such a horrifying way. 'Please…'

Looking at the beast, she pleaded in despair

But at that time,

Whoosh!

The night wind bellowed lifting her messy hair and time seemed to stop.

A figure moves from the side, it passes the monster after drawing an arch with his sword.

The figure was not fast, but there was a strangeness in his moment, making the mad beast unable to react or notice his presence quickly. It still seems to be in confusion despite its sharp instinct.

The figure of White stood not far away, revealing himself as his pale white hair flowed in the night wind, his calm yet cold eyes looked at the beast solemnly for a moment before glancing at her.

He held a sword similar to her which she recognised was Fans'.

Aizu didn't have time to think because, at the next moment, the mad beast's head fell to the ground, and blood splurted like a fountain from its neck; dyeing everything in red.
