Chapter 113: The Crown Prince of West Capital - Chase Wei

"Turns out you're quite the gentleman," the woman laughed playfully. She didn't continue to make things difficult for Leon and took off the pendant, handing it to him.

Just as Leon was about to say something, his phone rang. Answering it, his face changed. After hurriedly thanking her, he left in a rush, leaving the woman behind, bewildered.

Beach, swimsuits, beauties—Leon didn't waste a second. He quickly boarded a flight back to H University in West Capital. At the school gate, he saw Michael Fang and Daniel Zhang anxiously waiting for him.

"Is Lily okay?" Leon asked sternly. He had received a call from Wendy, urging him to return quickly because a man was harassing Lily Lin.

"Serena Su and Emma Shen are both handling it," Michael said with a worried expression. Seeing the usually carefree Michael so concerned, Leon realized the situation was more serious than mere harassment.

As they entered the campus, Leon noticed an unusual atmosphere. Students gave him strange looks, filled with a mix of disdainful sympathy and mockery. Some whispered and gossiped as he passed.

On the way, Michael gravely explained to Leon what had happened in his absence.

For some reason, shortly after Leon left, H University received a very special visitor. This man was significant because H University was known for its future political elite circles. Even high-profile visitors from other provinces or cities wouldn't cause much stir. But this man was different; the president sent someone to personally greet him, and even the student council got involved.

This kind of commotion naturally alarmed the entire university.

Then, somehow, this man specifically requested first-year computer science student Lily Lin to be his guide around the university. This request was odd. Lily had just been approved to join the student council by Emma Shen, and though they used the excuse that freshmen were unsuitable as guides, the man insisted. So Lily had no choice.

Up to this point, everything was calm. Many infatuated girls envied Lily for being chosen to guide a man who seemed straight out of a romance novel, with his bewitching charm. The trouble started soon after. Lily rushed to the student council, refusing to guide the man any longer.

Some students said that the man had tried to take advantage of Lily, earning himself a slap.

After that, the man came to the student council, demanding Lily accompany him to a charity banquet as his date. Emma Shen couldn't agree to this. Not only was Lily strongly opposed, but the student council wasn't a matchmaking service. However, given the man's powerful background, Emma knew the school could do little in such a dispute.

The man seemed increasingly determined to possess Lily. At this point, Serena Shen reminded everyone of Leon's bold claim that "only I can touch my girlfriend." Whether this deterred the man or not, the student council was still holding off until Leon's return. Meanwhile, the story of Leon's girlfriend being harassed by a notorious bully spread throughout the university.

This explained the strange atmosphere Leon encountered upon his return.

It wasn't that the students wanted to gloat. In fact, many had a good impression of H University's most famous couple, especially after their duet at the welcome party. Compared to the notorious rich kid, Leon was far more likable. However, it seemed Leon faced a huge challenge this time. If he failed, he might really be trampled underfoot.

Leon nodded, processing the information. This man, who terrified every student at H University, must have done something outrageous to Lily. Given her phobia of men, slapping him in panic was perfectly understandable.

"Damn, usually H University's elite circle is so arrogant. Now, with someone clearly stepping on their turf, they all act like turtles," Michael cursed.

Daniel sighed.

"Forget them," Leon said coldly, looking around.

"Damn it, who cares if he's the demon king's son or the emperor of West Capital, we've got your back!" Michael said earnestly.

Daniel nodded. "Our brotherhood means we can't back down now. Big Brother is already protecting Lily. Don't let us down!"

Leon smiled, appreciating their support. From the insider information, it was clear that this man's background was formidable, no wonder the university's elite circle was silent. However, knowing the existence of the "Royal Clan," this kind of background was nothing to Leon.

Leon had a plan.

Marching towards the student council, Leon drew the attention of students and faculty alike. His unflinching demeanor piqued their curiosity, forming a silent sea of people following him.

Those waiting around the student council were astounded by the sight of the formidable crowd, especially with Leon leading like a general. They had been lamenting and fuming, but now they saw Lily's boyfriend was no ordinary person.

On the third-floor corridor, a group of spectators watched. Unlike the indignant students, these men and women were filled with disdain and cold indifference.

"I heard Chase Wei has a nasty fetish for tormenting innocent girls. Looks like our dear Lily is in trouble," a girl with painted nails said nonchalantly.

"Can't you just settle it with a phone call?" the young man beside her smiled.

The girl showed a disgusted expression. "I have no interest in opposing him over such a trivial matter."

"That Leon Chen seems quite ignorant of the world," a tall, skinny young man remarked.

Their eyes twitched as they saw Leon's determined stride and the imposing aura behind him.

"He's just a student. I'm not surprised," the girl said, blowing on her nails.

"Shall we go down and watch?"

"No need, I already know the outcome," the girl laughed softly. "I hope our junior won't ruin his future just for his pride. Otherwise, we might really see his corpse."

They laughed mockingly.

Jason He casually glanced at them, a faint smile on his lips as he made a call. "karma comes quickly. Leon's finally caught the attention of someone he can't handle."

"Yes, Chase Wei, the emperor of West Capital's nephew. This time, he's finished. I've arranged to have the incident recorded for you to savor his downfall... No, nothing to regret. If Leon knows when to yield, you might still see him alive. By the way, there's news about Lily Lin..."

Ending the call, Jason felt more satisfied than ever.

Honestly, seeing a commoner like Leon overshadowing his fourth brother had always annoyed him. Now things felt normal again. With fame comes a price.

So true.

Leon spotted the man leisurely drinking tea on the sofa and chatting with Emma Shen.

Indeed, the man exuded an insidious charm, his entire being radiating an unpleasant arrogance, though it seemed justified.

From Michael's words, Leon learned about this man's background.

Chase Wei!

His father was the commander of the Third Fleet in the South Sea, and several family members held key positions in the municipal committee. But what truly intimidated H University was his grandfather, a man called "Ninth Emperor."

The general public might not know about the Ninth Emperor, but to the well-connected students at H University, his name was legendary.

The development of West Capital owed much to the Ninth Emperor's efforts. Even the central government had tacitly accepted the Wei family's dominance in West Capital, so long as they didn't overstep. This emperor status was why no one wanted to provoke them.

Understanding this, Leon knew he had to break this norm today.

Chase Wei recognized Leon immediately but didn't take him seriously. To him, this pure girl's boyfriend was merely interesting. He appreciated Leon's imposing entrance but quickly lost interest. Not on the same level, he had no time to waste on Leon.

What amused Chase was how, upon Leon's arrival, the terrified Lily Lin and the resolute Emma Shen suddenly seemed to find a safe haven.

Did they really think West Capital had safe places?

"Are you okay? Did he do anything to you?" Leon asked Lily.

Lily was severely shaken. Though Serena Su and Emma Shen had been fending off Chase, he hadn't crossed any lines. Still, Serena's subtle signal made Leon notice the bruises Lily tried to hide. On her fair skin, the blue marks were striking.

"Leon, don't act rashly. I've informed the president, and she's on her way," Emma Shen whispered, her voice pleading. She sensed the dangerous aura in Leon's eyes.

"I've never been slapped by a woman before. You're the first. I like it," Chase Wei smiled. "Now that your boyfriend's here, should we stop wasting time?"

"Your boyfriend is willing to have you accompany me to the banquet as compensation for that slap. It's a fair trade."

Despite H University's reputation, Chase didn't want to escalate things. Otherwise, he would have taken her right after the slap, not waiting for Leon to return.

"They said it's up to you. What's your decision?" Chase directed the question at Leon, not even glancing at him. He had given Leon a way out, now it was up to him to take it.

The room fell silent. The boys looked on with a mix of sympathy and ridicule, while the girls showed pity and helplessness.

To them, the best outcome would be for Leon to accept the compromise. After all, on the surface, Lily did seem to be at fault, and being a date for a charity banquet didn't seem unacceptable. Most importantly, Chase's eyes exuded a life-disregarding coldness that was terrifying.

Lily looked at Leon with fear, dreading that he might really push her into this. Her frightened gaze broke Leon's heart.

In a sudden, thunderous roar that split the night sky, Leon made a decision that left everyone astonished.
