Exceptional Beauty Moonlight!
Leon was on high alert. Meeting in such circumstances could only mean trouble.
"The legendary Exceptional Beauty Moonlight's identity is indeed extraordinary," Leon tried to keep his tone light, but the girl's presence was incredibly captivating.
Exceptional Beauty Moonlight remained silent, her white sword lowered, showing no sign of attack.
What's going on?
Leon sensed something strange about the atmosphere.
"How fortunate. I was just wondering how to make Sienna give up on her boyfriend, and here heaven delivers a gift," a mocking voice filled with teasing said. "A Blood Clan, huh? That means I can kill you with impunity."
From behind Exceptional Beauty Moonlight, a suave man stepped out.
Jenkins!
No one noticed the slight tremor in Exceptional Beauty Moonlight when Jenkins mentioned Sienna's boyfriend.
"Wendy, aren't we lucky? Tonight, we get to kill four Blood Clan. Feels great," Jenkins revealed two silver-glowing twin blades. Notably, Jenkins' short hair glowed with the same golden hue as Exceptional Beauty Moonlight's, and his eyes were a striking, oceanic blue.
Leon was now certain that Exceptional Beauty Moonlight and Jenkins were of the same kind—Blood Clan hunters.
"Who are you?" Leon's eyes glowed violet as he asked, realizing he was in trouble given their ability to easily kill Garcia and his men.
"Violet eyes? A Pure-blood!" Jenkins exclaimed with delight.
"But really, you don't even know who we are? Isn't that a bit too privileged for a Pure-blood?" Jenkins mocked. "Such a disappointment, I thought everyone knew."
He held his blades, exuding the aura of a fierce tiger.
"And that's all!"
Jenkins vanished.
So fast!
Leon didn't blink, and Jenkins' dreamlike hair and eyes were suddenly right in front of him.
The blade flashed like a shooting star, and a gash opened on Leon's right shoulder.
In the distance, the silent girl shuddered again.
Jenkins' left blade was nimble and crafty, while his right blade was overwhelmingly powerful, driving Leon into a desperate situation with no room to fight back.
Leon retreated, sliding out of Jenkins' killing range.
The man smiled appreciatively, twirling his blades, looking at the Blood Clan in tatters. Though Leon appeared badly injured, the wounds were superficial.
"Western Blood Clan, Southern Saint Hunter... Huh, you really don't know?" Jenkins' smile quickly turned cold. "Hunting Blood Clans is the Saints Hunters' job."
"That's really unlucky!" Leon's eyes nearly stung with intensity as he realized the gravity of the situation.
In just a few seconds of combat, Leon felt the terror of facing Jenkins. The speed, precision, and reaction, along with the angles of each blade strike, were all perfect. Jenkins was clearly highly skilled and experienced in this form of combat, and his dual-blade attacks were flawless, controlling the rhythm entirely.
Although Leon possessed the NO.109 abilities of the Holy Night Noble, he lacked battle experience and even basic combat concepts.
The Holy Night Noble abilities were more than enough against normal people or even soldiers, and against other Blood Clan like Garcia, but against someone like Jenkins, it was like a student with a gun facing a professional soldier.
Surviving for even a second longer was a miracle, and Leon had no chance to counterattack.
If not for the Holy Night Noble's inherent strength, Leon would likely have ended up like Garcia. But this was unavoidable. Before gaining his abilities, Leon had been an honest student, rarely getting into fights, let alone life-and-death battles.
He was no match for someone like Jenkins, who lived to kill Blood Clans.
What frustrated Leon more was that if he had known tonight would turn out like this, he wouldn't have used up all six of his ability activations for the day. With the material penetration ability, no matter how skilled Jenkins was, he would have been manageable.
Next time, he would have to find a way to fully utilize the Holy Night Noble's abilities.
If there was a next time.
"The price of youth..." Jenkins sneered, his figure blurring.
With a feint to draw Leon's attention, Jenkins drove his left blade into Leon's chest, piercing through his lung and out the other side.
Critically injured, Leon closed in, gripping Jenkins' throat.
Jenkins sidestepped, his finger flicks creating sword-like cuts on the his neck. Blood droplets scattered, and Leon quickly moved to intercept Jenkins' path.
Using his right hand to feint, his left hand revealed its deadly intent.
Jenkins' face changed, and he quickly halted and dodged.
A tearing sound.
A deep wound appeared on Jenkins' shoulder. If it were anyone else, Leon would have pressed the attack and snapped the target's neck after this shoulder injury, but Jenkins made a quick decision. A short blade unsheathed, spinning a wave of silver light in front of him.
Leon had to retreat several yards, still mindful of Exceptional Beauty Moonlight's indifferent stance nearby.
Tonight wasn't the time for a fight!
Without hesitation, Leon turned and ran. He needed to survive the night.
Jenkins spat out a breath of cold air. This guy!
Ignoring his severe chest wound, Leon ran towards a chemistry lab, remembering it contained many chemicals that could be used as weapons.
Jenkins sneered and quickly pursued.
Feeling a sudden chill behind him, Leon spun with a roundhouse kick, hitting nothing but mist.
A silver powder mist!
Leon felt dizzy, his shoulder slashed deeply, breaking his collarbone.
A silver flash cut through the mist.
Feeling dizzy, Leon barely managed to dodge, losing the best chance to escape.
"Did you think you could escape my blades?" Jenkins sneered, striking again with blood spraying.
But it was Jenkins who was thrown back from the silver mist.
This Saint Hunter looked up in shock.
In the darkness, violet eyes glowed coldly.
Damn it!
This guy had faked his escape to deceive him.
As Jenkins realized this, Leon, exploiting the time difference, kicked Jenkins' knee. The Saint Hunter, still dreaming of killing a Pure-blood, heard a crack.
His face turned pale, his bone obviously broken.
Despite his severe injuries, Jenkins raised his twin blades, the silver gleam sweeping around him, creating an illusion that made everything seem unreal.
Retreat meant certain death!
Ignoring the risk, Leon charged through the silver wave, the blades cutting his body, spilling blood everywhere. Even Exceptional Beauty Moonlight couldn't help but clench her fists.
Jenkins' pupils shrank in horror.
The target had rushed in, ignoring his own life. Even the experienced Jenkins had never faced such a situation.
Crazy.
This guy was definitely crazy.
Before Jenkins could defend, Leon, battered and bleeding, closed in.
In mid-air, Leon twisted, bringing his knee down hard on Jenkins' face.
The arrogant, handsome face twisted hideously, blood spurting from Jenkins' nose and mouth.
Jenkins, despite his pride, didn't retreat, slashing with his twin blades.
He heard the sound of the blades cutting into muscle, but this was followed by an even more brutal strike.
With no time to think, Leon seemed demonic, his calm face showing no emotion. His own injuries and his opponent's didn't exist.
The only thought in his mind: subdue this man to use as a hostage. Leon had a terrible feeling that the silent girl was even more dangerous than Jenkins.
In mid-air, Leon twisted, bringing his right leg down with terrifying force on Jenkins' shoulder, breaking the shoulder blade.
As Leon prepared to grab Jenkins' neck, something unbelievable happened.
Jenkins' figure blurred like a water ripple and vanished from Leon's sight. When Jenkins reappeared, he was three yards away.
Leon was surprised.
Jenkins' face was as pale as paper, the glow in his ocean-blue eyes and golden hair fading.
He looked very disheveled, his once handsome face now bruised and swollen, two teeth missing. But compared to Leon, Jenkins was still in better shape, at least he could still move.
"Damn you, forcing me to use the 'Saint's Shadow.' You're dead!" Jenkins sneered angrily. This guy had to die.
The twin blades promised death.
Leon smiled bitterly. Moving caused excruciating pain, and he had no energy left for another attack.
The severe lung injury was quickly draining Leon's consciousness. He blinked, his vision blurred with blood.
Remembering Lina's words, it seemed the Blood Clan trouble was far from simple.
The Southern Saint Hunters...
Should he find an excuse to delay until after midnight or use the customer service option?
Leon wasn't desperate, his mind quickly forming a plan.
Jenkins' figure vanished and reappeared.
At that moment, a faint metallic sound interrupted his thoughts. Unexpectedly, a dreamlike figure blocked Jenkins' path.
A white blade intercepted his twin blades.
The white coat fluttered in the dust and moonlight, golden hair dancing before Leon. The serene girl finally moved, unexpectedly standing in front of Leon.
"Clang"
The girl raised her right hand, sword in reverse grip, left hand extended, gold chain swirling, dissolving the silver flash.
"Wendy? What are you doing?"
Jenkins was stunned.
The girl remained silent, uttering cold words: "His life is mine!"
That familiar voice, Leon gasped for breath.
"Fine. Since he's a Pure-blood, I'll leave him to you," Jenkins breathed heavily, forcing a smile.
The girl kept her head down, her thoughts unreadable.
Jenkins' eyes flashed with a strange light, deeply, warily looking at Leon, reluctantly saying, "Wendy, whatever you're thinking, kill this Pure-blood immediately. If he grows, he'll bring us great harm!"
The girl remained silent.
By now, people were coming towards them.
Jenkins snorted, turning
and quickly leaving, his eyes filled with hatred.
The girl sprinkled some silver powder over Garcia's body, turning it to ashes.
"Come with me!" She approached Leon, whispering softly. She wrapped her arm around his waist and leaped into the air, moving effortlessly between buildings as if defying the laws of physics.
Her?
Leon looked at the side of the girl's face and saw a pair of eyes that were bluer than the ocean and brighter than gems, eyes filled with infinite gentle serenity.
This reminded him of a girl.
How could it be her?
