Chapter 7 - Familia Inferni

15 years ago...

A young girl is sitting in a soft, red bed, crying, as a drawing book depicting an erased happy family sits next to her. Suddenly, an angry yell is heard downstairs,

"Courtney, you get down here now!"

A deep, angry voice calls for her, as the young girl flinches in fear.

The girl then gets up, as she walks out of her room, she passes by her father's room, where a shelf of trophies and medals are kept on a shelf.

"I said... GET DOWN HERE, YOU INSOLENT BRAT!"

The man continues to shout angrily, the girl flinches again, as she continues down the hall towards the stairs.

As she takes the steps down, she watches as the man, who is her father, is sitting on his couch as usual, surrounded by erotically dressed prostitutes as they please him. He sits there not even seeming to care while his own daughter watches, as he smokes a cigar while holding a glass of wine in the other. The man then turns to his daughter near the stairs, before sighing deeply, clicking his tongue in disappointment. He then whistles to her, continuing to call her down. The girl quickly gets down the stairs to her father, as she stands before him on his couch as the women surround him, he then shoves aside the woman who is currently on top of him, as he zips up his pants and stands up, walking over to the young girl, before stopping as he towers over her. The girl then stands there in her father's intimidating presence, as she prepares for the worst, then it happened... The man hits her, hard, as she falls to the ground, about to burst into tears, as the father continues to scream at her and beat her, kicking her until she vomited. The man then leaves and grabs another bottle of wine from his kitchen,

"God, I wish that condom wasn't fucking broken..."

The father complains to himself angrily as he gulps down a whole bottle of wine.

One of the women was kind enough to help her up, however, the man sensed this angering him, as he quickly killed her, launching a ball of what seemed like magma straight at her face, causing her to scream in pain as her face melted to death. The young girl had to watch this happen, every day...

"That'll teach ya..."

The father said, as he took a big gulp from another bottle of wine,

"No one touches my daughter, except me!"

He yells at the girls, causing them to run off before anything can happen to them,

"Hey, where do you all think you're going!?"

The man angrily screams at the girls as they escape, he tries to chase them but just stops, as he throws a little tantrum. The man has a severe crash out, throwing furniture and decorations, as he then turns to his daughter, putting on an evil smile as he then walks over to her, the girl still hurt and petrified after what just happened. The man then picks her up by the neck, before throwing her towards the couch,

"You'll have to do..."

He says as he goes over to her, preparing to do horrible, horrible things...

A few hours later...

The girl is seen in the kitchen, exhausted, bleeding everywhere as she's forced to sweep the house, wash the dishes and other various chores, as the man seems to be asleep on the couch.

After another hour, the girl walks up to her room, still trembling, as she falls onto her bed, immediately sobbing into her pillow as she does. Her bed is once again stained with her blood, as it does everyday, as the bed turns more and more red in color.

After a few minutes, the girl lay in bed thinking,

"What if... I run away?"

She suddenly thought to herself, but then she shakes her head,

"N-no... Father will be extremely angry at me..."

She thinks to herself again, as she played with her fingers.

She continues thinking about it, as she then looked in the mirror of her closet. She stared at her tainted dress, her scars and injuries, as she felt herself begin to cry once again. She sobbed, and sobbed, and sobbed, as she fell onto her bed once again,

"SHUT UP! I CAN HEAR YOU FROM DOWN HERE!"

The father yelled at her, causing her to flinch and yelp in fear, as he then went back to sleep.

Soon, the girl took a deep breath, before finally deciding,

"T-that's it... I'll do it, I'll run away!"

She said to herself, motivated to finally escape this hell of a life.

The girl then began to pack her things; some food and water, her dog doll, a picture of someone special to her, and a book about the outside world she has in her bookshelf. She looked in the mirror one more time, taking a deep breath and sighing, as she then sneaked out of her house, through the window and climbing down from the second floor, quietly and safely.

When she landed on the soft grass below, she looked back and around at the world around her,

"Woah... so this is... The outside world?"

She says to herself, as she looks around at the grass, the trees, the skies and the clouds, and the bright, white sun, causing her to be blinded a bit.

She then took her first step outside, as she felt her heart beat faster, she felt... happy.

She then looked back at the house one more time, before taking a deep breath, and running away. She kept running away, as fast as she could, as far as she could, as for the first time in years, she felt a genuine smile on her face. She laughed, she giggled in joy, as she watched the scenery around her.

After a few hours, the sun started setting, as she rested under a tree, exhausted. She breathed heavily as she quickly fell flat on the grassy floor under the tree,

"Wow... The outside world is really fun!"

The girl says to herself as she feels her eyes getting heavy, as she slowly falls asleep...

The next day, she continued walking, as she pulled out the book that basically teaches basic knowledge about the world. She reads it as she walks through the forest,

"So... I need to find a city, and... A job?"

She wonders to herself as she walks, letting her guard down as she accidentally falls into a stream of water, causing her to get wet.

She then decided to keep walking, despite feeling super cold,

"S-s-so.... The city..."

She continues to think to herself as she continued walking.

Many days passed, the young girl kept walking through forests and grasslands, still wearing the same dress, out of food and water, now eating any fruit and berry she could find and drinking from streams. Luckily, she didn't encounter anything particularly dangerous during her journey in the wilds.

She continued living the same life for days, freezing in the night and burning in the day, as she started getting sick, her body started getting weaker and weaker as she continued.

One day, she was walking once more in the cold night. Her body overheats due to a fever, at the same time, she shivers due to her tattered dress and the cold night. Her vision was blurry, and her head was always dizzy, it was a nightmare, yet she kept pushing,

"C-city... Must find city..."

She thinks to herself once more as she keeps walking, she continues motivating herself, despite being in a deathly condition, until eventually, her body couldn't take it anymore, and she fell flat onto the ground...

Soon, she wakes up in a white room, as a bright light wakes flashes her as soon as she wakes up,

"W-what... Where is this... Am I dead?"

The girl says to herself, when suddenly,

"Oh my god, she's alive!"

Someone says, as a lady in a blue uniform comes to her side and greets her,

"Hey, little girl! Good morning, how are you doing? Are you alright? What happened?"

What seems to be a nurse, worried, barrages the girl with multiple questions, as the little girl seems to be confused, wondering what's going on,

"Are we... Am I in the city?"

She asks the nurse, as the nurse smiles at her and caresses her cheek,

"Don't worry little girl, you're in an even better place..."

The nurse says, before getting up and exiting the room,

"I'm going to go get a doctor, okay? Stay here"

The nurse tells her, as she then shuts the door.

The girl continues to lay there on the hospital bed, confused as to what's even going on. When she then decides to get up, as she lands on the floor, she feels an extreme pain, but she pushes through it.

She exits the room, looking around to see if anyone's there, as she then sneaks out of the building. She walks through the quiet halls, managing to sneak past all the people, doctors, nurses and staff there, as she somehow manages to escape the building scot-free. She then looks back at the building to see it's a...

"H-hospital..."

She reads a sign at the top out loud, before shrugging it off as she leaves,

"It smelled bad in there..."

She commented one more time before walking away.

The girl kept walking, before she finally reached... Bright lights flash everywhere!, busy streets filled with fancy vehicles, fancy people and... Billboards!

"C-c-city!"

The girl says as she looked around in amazement, her eyes glittering as her eyes went looking everywhere.

She then went walking around, exploring as much of the city as she could, having as much fun as possible as well. Soon, she felt her stomach grumble,

"Oh, I'm hungry..."

The girl says to herself, as she looks around and finds a flashy looking building.

She then enters the building, as she gets amazed at how many new things, and foods she found there! She then grabs some of the food and starts eating it, when suddenly,

"Hey, kid! You're supposed to pay for that, y'know!"

A store clerk yells at her, causing her to be scared and run off, as she quickly gets out of the store,

"Hey, get back here! Guards, get her!"

The store clerk calls out for some guards, as they begin chasing after her.

The girl kept running while the guards chased after her, with the girl getting the upper hand with her small size. She then entered an alleyway, with many obstacles that only she can get through, allowing her to escape the guards.

The little girl then fell flat on the ground, as she's exhausted from the chase. She then rests, taking a break as she began eating the food that she stole. She then began crying in joy, as she's never eaten this type of food before, which by the way, is just a few bags of chips, as she chows all of it down.

She soon finishes a few bags, before gushing it all down with some soda, she then once again falls flat on the ground as she rests, letting out a satisfied sigh. She stares out into the night sky as she lays there,

"Wow... The city is super fun! Unlike..."

The girl says to herself, as memories of her house suddenly flows back into her head, but she quickly shakes it away,

"N-no... That's not my life anymore... Father can't do anything to me anymore! He's... he is nothing to me anymore..."

She says to herself, as she then curls up on the ground, before she starts to cry again,

"M-mother... I want my mother... I miss my..."

The little girl cries to herself as lays on the cold, flat, concrete ground, crying herself to sleep...

A scene then plays of a man making love to a woman, soon, the woman realizes she's pregnant, but when she went to share the news, the man had already left, leaving her with the child. At first, the woman planned on aborting it, but she decided just not to, so she gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, and loved her with all her heart,

"I'm gonna name you... Courtney."

The mother said, as she held the baby in her arms, giving her a warm, loving smile. The mother then continued to take care of her until he day she turned 5, when one day, the woman took her to the father's house, where she was greeted with a look of despair, as the man is already pleasuring himself with another woman. It turns out, the man has already been with multiple other women while he was away. The man and the woman have an argument, while the daughter stood there, the woman showed the man his daughter, causing him to be enraged, killing the woman, and traumatizing the daughter forever. The daughter cried there beside the woman's body, as the man then took the girl, quickly taking care of the body by seemingly setting it ablaze, before shutting the door to the outside, forever...

The next day, the little girl then woke up, still in the alleyway, on the hard floor, as she rubbed her eyes and looked around,

"yawn What a strange dream... Scary..."

She thought to herself, as she then got up and continued her day...

And so, for the next year or so, the young girl continued to steal from different stores to get food and water to survive everyday, when the day came when she realized she's now easily identified all throughout the city, she left the city...

And so she continued the same process in the next city she went to. Every time, she steals, escapes, survives, leaves, finds another different town, a different city, a different country, over and over, for the next year...

One day, the girl once again gets caught committing highway robbery on a supply truck, some patrol officers were there and caught her in the act, causing her to run away and escape into a nearby town.

She decided to hide in a secluded alleyway, as she then looked out for a bit to check if there's anyone, and realized that the news spread to all the guards in this town, and now were looking for her as well.

She then sneaked out when she thought the coast was clear, hoping to escape, when suddenly,

"Aha! I gotcha!"

A guard exclaimed as he grabbed the girl by the arm,

"H-hey! Let me go!"

She yelled as she struggled to escape,

"Hey guys, I got the thief, she looks to be the famous thief that everyone's talking about nowadays too! We're gonna be rich!"

The guard celebrates, as he forcefully drags the girl back to his friends.

The girl continues to struggle, but starts to panic as she realizes she's too weak. She continues to struggle, as she then begins to cry again. As she continues to shout, she starts to feel dizzy, her vision getting blurry and her head aching severely as she feels a great pressure falling upon her. Her body then started to glow and overheat, as the guard then lets go of her out of pain as his hands get burned,

"Ow... What the...? An awakening?"

The guard exclaims, as the girl continues to glow even brighter, the air around her gets even hotter as the man gets scared, continuing to take a few steps back when...

BOOM! A huge explosion can be heard, as the girl blacked out, finally falling unconscious.

When the girl woke up, she opened her eyes to see that there was nothing but fire and destruction all around her. Bodies are everywhere, covered in flames. The screams and cries of the desperate can be heard everywhere. The girl kept looking around in horror, but all she saw was death and destruction, and she looked down at herself, checking to see as she noticed, she's the only one that's completely fine...

"D-did I, do all this...?"

She asks herself, as she looked down at her hands, trembling as she stands there horrified, when she then realized, a young boy, standing in front of her, teary-eyed and wearing tattered clothes as he looked up at her. The girl then began to sob and cry uncontrollably once again out of guilt, regret and horror, before quickly turning and running away before anything else went wrong...

Meanwhile, in a certain military base, a tall man with a high-ranked outfit and a coat in the style of a cape is watching TV, smoking a cigar as he watches the recent arson massacre on the town of Lavvendon on the news, and the criminal is shown to be...

"MY DAUGHTER!?"

The man gets up and shouts angrily as he breaks his cigar, his face starts to turn red completely out of rage, as he continues to yell angrily, his voice can be heard all throughout the base.

"I'M GONNA KILL THAT BITCH!"

The man declared, shouting as he walks through the halls, throwing a rage fit as he broke everything in his way, throwing around objects and other people, as the hunt of a new world-threatening criminal, with a bounty of over $30,000,000,000, The Solar Phoenix, begins on that day.
