Endure (Part One)

Three days after Su Xiang had been confined to a room in the Tower of Illumination, Redeemer Qing Zhen entered the bare room her daughter had been confined to. She was followed by a quiet disciple in plain robes carrying a tray with a bowl of thin congee, a cup of weak tea, and a single boiled egg.

When Su Xiang had originally been ordered to the Tower of Illumination, the room she'd been confined in held a thin mattress, a low table, and a mat for meditation. The furnishings were sparse and intended to only grant sufficient comfort necessary to rest while a person contemplated the reason for their incarceration. On the second day of Su Xiang's confinement, her mother had ordered the furnishings removed.
