"But you should consider Young Lord Liang carefully," the Hall Master added. "His affection for you is genuine. Perhaps, one day, you'll even feel the same for him..."

In a quiet and secluded courtyard in the Bamboo Silk House's eastern branch, Warden Mu Shien looked up from setting out a tea set with a warm smile as her latest student arrived. The blossoms of spring in the garden had given way to the lush green of early summer but she was finding that the time she spent with her favorite student's suitor brightened her day more than the weather did. Hopefully, it wouldn't be long before he did the same thing for Wu Ling.

"Good afternoon, Teacher Mu," Liang Xiong said, giving the older woman a radiant smile and bowing deeply. "I brought a small gift for you today," he added, pulling a freshly made scroll from his cosmos bag and presenting it to Mu Shien.

"You mentioned that you'd never read General Ku's Manual of the Great Game," he said. "Since the Purple Thunder War Hall has a copy available in our common archives, I had a copy prepared for you."
