The thing Wu Ling needed help with was recovering and quickly processing the bones of the Radiant Mountain Lion they'd slain. With days for the bones to dry in the sun it would be easy to begin carving. Wu Ling, however, needed to complete his current project in a single evening. To do that required the use of Xiong Dahuo's deft butchery skills to remove the right bones as cleanly as possible and the use of Yu Jinqi's alchemy flames to rapidly dry the bones without cracking them.
Perhaps one day Hou's flames would be refined and controlled enough for the process but at the moment, Wu Ling felt that providing flames for a pot of tea or a quick stirfry were about the gluttonous bird's limit.
Once he had the bones prepared, rather than immediately begin carving, Wu Ling found a relatively quiet space away from the waterfall to meditate and enter his Inner World.
