Chapter 89 New Challenges

As Ebert's discovery spread throughout the Magic Academy, there was a commotion throughout the magical world. Many magicians are both excited and concerned about this new way of casting spells. After all, changing ingrained habits isn't easy.

The research team led by Elders Ebert and Anand is working hard every day to explore this new way of using magic. They set up a special laboratory in a remote corner of the Magic Academy, which was filled with all kinds of strange magic props and instruments.

This morning, Ebert was conducting a complex experiment in the laboratory. He tried to inject emotion into an advanced protective magic, hoping to create a more powerful and flexible barrier.

At this moment, Lillian hurried into the laboratory. "Ebert!" she gasped, "you have to come and see this soon!"

Ebert put down his work and followed Lillian to the atrium of the Magic Academy. He was surprised to find a large group of students gathered in the atrium. They formed a circle, and in the middle stood a young apprentice who looked a little panicked.

"What's going on?" Abbott asked.

Lillian pointed at the young apprentice and said, "That's Taylor. Something seemed to go wrong when he tried your new method."

Ebert approached Taylor and noticed that his hands were emitting a strange blue glow that he seemed to have no control over.

"Tyler, calm down," Abbott said gently, "tell me what happened."

Taylor trembled and said, "I-I just wanted to try infusing my feelings into a simple lighting magic. But suddenly, the magic got out of control. I can't stop now!"

Ebert took a closer look at Taylor's situation and then said, "I understand. Taylor, you have to listen to me carefully now. Close your eyes and take a deep breath."

Taylor did so.

"Now," Ebott continued, "imagine your magic is a river. You don't need to force it, just guide it. Try to shift your attention from your hands to your heart."

Taylor's breathing gradually calmed down. Slowly, the blue light in his hand began to fade, and finally disappeared completely.

Taylor opened his eyes and looked at his hands in surprise: "It really stopped! It's amazing!"

Ebert smiled and said, "Well done, Taylor. Remember, new magic methods are not just about injecting emotions, but more importantly about maintaining inner balance."

This episode caused Ebert to think deeply. He realized that while new ways of using magic had great potential, they could also bring unexpected risks if used incorrectly.

After returning to the laboratory, Ebert immediately gathered the members of the research team.

"We need to develop a complete training program," he said, "not only to teach how to use new magic methods, but also to help students learn to control their emotions and imagination."

Elder Anand nodded in agreement: "Yes, we cannot ignore the risks that this new method may bring. Maybe we should invite some experts in psychic magic to join our research."

Just then, a homing pigeon flew into the laboratory window. Ebert took off the small piece of paper from the pigeon's foot, and his expression suddenly became solemn.

"What's wrong?" Lilian asked.

Ebert handed the note to her: "It's a distress signal from the northern border. It seems that a huge vortex of chaos has appeared there, and the local magicians cannot control the situation."

Elder Anand stood up immediately: "We must act immediately. This may be an important opportunity for us to implement new methods."

Abbott nodded in agreement: "Yes, but we can't act rashly. We need a careful plan."

Over the next few hours, Ebert worked with members of the research team to develop a detailed plan of action. They decided to form a team, consisting of Ebert, Lilian, Elder Anand, and several experienced magicians.

Before setting off, Elder Blishhan found Ebote.

"Ebert," he said seriously, "this mission is very dangerous. If the situation gets out of hand, don't force it. Remember, sometimes retreat is also wise."

Ebert nodded gratefully: "I understand, Great Elder. We will be careful."

That afternoon, the team led by Ebert embarked on a journey to the northern border. They didn't know what was waiting for them ahead, but everyone was full of determination.

This will be a major test for the new magic theory, and it may also be a critical moment that changes the entire magical world. Ebert knew that they had a great responsibility to not only solve the immediate crisis, but also to forge a new path for the future of magic.

As their carriage drove toward the north, Ebert looked at the distant horizon, filled with anticipation and a little uneasiness. Whatever lies ahead for them, he's ready to take on the challenge.
