Chapter 14: An ungrateful brat

I watched as they talked business in front of me and I had no single clue of what they were saying. Subconsciously, I gazed at Jeraldine's phone scrolling through the missed call list. Every one of them was from Melissa.

My unexpected quest for divorce must have given them a panic attack. I should have done this earlier ago! Why didn't I think of this?

I wondered, my fingers playing with the straw in my drink. I looked at it, my mind directing me back to my past.

Funnily enough, the bar had become my place of betrayal and an orange juice, a tool for my drugging. I thinned my lips, staring at the drink. How I wished I didn't follow Melissa's orders so blindly.

She did everything so meticulously that I couldn't even detect. Who was I to even detect? Who on earth would suspect that their own twin was after their demise?
