Preconception

Chapter 29 Preconception Aleshia was shocked to find herself without limbs or a body! Taking some time to cool down and collect her thoughts, she assessed her situation and found many clues to her predicament in the space that could guide her. Although she couldn't remember what had happened while she was a beast, she still felt the lingering emotions. She recalled the awe when she looked at the sky shards that seemed to be playing in the sky and looked up to see if they were still there. As she stared at the memories, she realized they were still present. She took a few minutes to search for any clues about her situation within them. To her amazement, she discovered many memories, several of which she did not remember experiencing. Regardless, she felt a connection to the emotions embedded within the memories. It was as though she was reliving those moments herself. When she finally snapped out of her daydream, Aleshia was surprised to see that she had somehow moved. Finding this odd but welcome, she tried to move again but could not. Reflecting on what she had just experienced, she realized she shouldn't try to move in the way a physical body moves. Remembering the girl who had been with her, she recalled how effortlessly that girl could move around in soul form. Aleshia realized she was too stuck in her way of thinking, needing to move like a human, and didn't realize that the body she had now did not work like a human's. When Aleshia gained that understanding, she immediately cast aside her inhibition and let herself go. Surprisingly, this action worked, and Aleshia was now drifting across the never-ending sky. Aleshia attempted various methods to learn how to fly in the sky. Some failed, but some succeeded. The process was exhilarating for Aleshia, and she gained the freedom of flight. Aleshia steadily grew accustomed to her new way of movement, giving her all in learning and letting nothing distract her. She felt a silly urge - an urge to fly high and fly fast! As the thought of being free overtook her, she realized why the girl played around so much in her soul form. It was fun; it was freeing to be unburdened by the ground, to feel the wind. While Aleshia was having fun in the sky, she didn't notice the strings still attached to her dragging along the memories that were her key to getting out of the soul space.
