Wicked Energy

Chapter 75 Wicked Energy

As Aleshia watched Lucia experimenting with an unknown power from afar, she could feel a surge of energy emanating from the wolf. Suddenly, the ground before the wolf began to levitate, turning into a hazy, translucent spear. The wolf hurled the spear into the air, and as it flew straight, it disappeared into thin air.

"What is that wolf firing at?" Aleshia muttered under her breath, her eyes narrowing as she watched the wolf deep in contemplation. Aleshia stood watching as the wolf created more human weapons and discharged them in the same direction as the first spear. As they collided with something, there was an audible boom, marking the announcement of a mysterious object that seemed to materialize before the wolf.

"What is that? That doesn't feel like a good thing to have around," Aleshia said in apprehension. From the strange pressure she could feel from the thing that suddenly appeared, she could tell it wasn't of this world; it was from a more demonic part of this world. It belonged to the more wicked races, and sometimes humankind would dabble in it.

She could feel it bending the natural order of this world. The strange sensation she had felt before was intensifying, emanating from that thing. Aleshia descended the hill she had been hiding on and crept closer to the pair, wary of the wicked energy she could sense. As Aleshia descended the ridge, she heard another loud noise. She lifted her head from her focused gaze on the steep ground to look at what caused the noise and saw that another one of those things had appeared.

In her peripheral vision, she could see the witch hat floating in the air, whimsically carried away from where she last saw it. Just as it was about to drift away and into the sky, the green wolf bounded forward and caught the edge of the hat in its jaws, preventing it from floating further. The green wolf and the hat both landed gracefully back on the ground.

While Aleshia descended the ridge, she kept a close eye on the scene below, glancing now and again. As she progressed down the hillside, she noticed another faintly glowing line facing the mysterious object. Soon, she heard a loud boom coming from it, which startled her slightly. After a while, she finally reached the bottom of the hill, which seemed to take forever to descend. Just as Aleshia was about to hit flat land, a flurry of ear-splitting booms erupted near where she last saw Lucia and that wolf.
