Two Doors
Chapter 135 Two Doors Aleshia was puzzled by Daniel's expectant gaze but eventually understood and responded, "I have a method to regulate the healing strength." In her mind, she questioned, 'You do have a way to do that, right, Lucia?' In response to her question, Lucia said, "Eventually, but I'll need more attempts to perfect the formula." Putting a finger to his chin, Daniel concluded, "That's a relief, but still, it would be best if you treat the relatively healthiest brats first to see for any side effects before moving on to the less fortunate ones." Daniel walked away and re-entered the worn-out house. Before he passed through the door, he brusquely asked, "Are you coming?" After that, Aleshia began walking toward the door. As soon as they entered, the three children whom Daniel had dismissed ran up to them, eager to ask if they could borrow Aleshia's witch hat to play with. "Can you lend us Lucia, please? We want to show her to everyone!" The hopeful expressions on the children's faces nearly made her reconsider, but knowing she needed Lucia to complete her task, she regretfully declined their request. "I am sorry, but perhaps after I finish with some stuff, I can let you play with Lucia." "Alright." The children pouted, but knowing they could play with her afterward lifted their spirits. They walked back into the dimly lit part of the building, where Aleshia presumed the other little kids were. After this brief encounter, Daniel led Aleshia to another part of the house, which was sectioned off and featured two doors leading in opposite directions. He opened the right door and said, "Once I figure out how your healing might affect the children, we will go through the other door." On the other side of the door were two rooms partially separated by a wall, with many blankets covering the floor. On one side, a group of kids was quietly chatting, while on the other side, some children were sleeping. Aleshia believed the layout would be similar through the other door and watched as Daniel quietly approached the active children. One by one, he asked them to gather in one spot without disturbing those who were sleeping. Once they had all gathered, he introduced Aleshia. "Everyone, meet Aleshia. Today, she will be performing some healing for all of you." Noticing some unease within the group, Daniel added, "Don't worry; she has kindly offered to heal everyone here, so please don't fight to be the last one healed, okay?"
