Chapter 206 The First Class
As the clock struck the agreed-upon time, Lucia felt confident that everything was ready. The desks were neatly arranged in rows, all facing the lectern she had crafted for herself. Behind it floated an enormous magical board that she had conjured. Each desk had its very own magical board, infused with a mana stylus. However, no one would be able to see any of the boards unless Lucia chose to reveal them. This precaution was a security measure to ensure that if anyone with ill intent were to search the room, they would not be able to see the boards.
Soon after, a group of children entered the classroom. At first, they gathered by the door, marveling at all the new stuff in the space. However, as more children arrived, those who wanted a closer look ushered everyone inside. They continued to be amazed by the room, just as they had been while watching Lucia demonstrate her furniture-making skills in the air. Eagerly, they took their seats in the chairs next to the desks and were delighted by how comfortable everything felt.
Just as everything settled down, Lucia announced, "Hello everyone! I will be your teacher. You can call me Lu—Aleshia." She abruptly changed her introduction. "Now, I understand that this is all going to be new for each of you, and it will be challenging. It will take time to adjust to learning these concepts. For now, please focus on absorbing as much information as you can." After saying that, Lucia began writing on the magic board behind her, writing out "Aleshia" in big letters and then doodling a cloud around it.
After Lucia wrote on the board, a chatter rose among the kids. They expressed their doubts about needing the class, shared second thoughts, and voiced concerns about wasting time learning things they deemed useless when they could instead be out earning money. Some even believed they already knew what the teacher would teach. However, among the noise, a few older kids, who understood better, stood up and quieted the crowd.
"Enough," a loud but stern voice echoed faintly within the walls. "Let us learn, then decide when it's over." After those brief words, the older kids returned to their seats, and the chatter subsided.
After thanking the group who quelled the unrest, Lucia used Aleshia's hands to teach the children how to use the boards in front of them. When prompted, the room looked toward their desks, but in confusion, they couldn't see the boards. They wanted to ask about it, but they were afraid of being reprimanded. Finally, one brave child spoke up and asked, "What board?" At that moment, a glimmer of blue light emanated from the desk he was leaning over, and a board appeared seemingly out of thin air.
