No Memory

The sky was a light pink, with some bright green cirrocumulus clouds all around. A forest of cyan, magenta, and orange trees embellished the purple field of grass, a natural look, in an unnatural environment. Each tree had leaves, with colors of lighter hue to their corresponding tree.

Small little furry rodents scurried around, climbing the trees and out of sight. A strange see through mammal, purple of color was on the ground, relishing on the matching grass, chewing away without a worry in its natural environment.

A couple meters away was a middle aged burly man, kneeling down on the grass, shaking a young boy who was laying.

"Hey, kid wake up." The man shook the boy roughly.

The boy started to regain consciousness, slowly opening his eyes, seeing an older man kneeling beside him. He sat up, rubbing his eyes, then placing his hands on the ground behind his back to support himself.

"Where.. am.. I?" The boy looked around, seeing many trees of different colors, and a pink sky.

The boy turned to the man and looked at him, confused. "Who are you?"

The man, who seemed to have woken him, eyed the boy suspiciously. He crossed his arms and sighed, a clear sign of annoyance.

He had wasted a lot of time trying to wake the boy, so he was feeling a bit upset that he couldn't get any information.

"Everyone knows the Land of Sweeten, and yet here you are telling me you have no clue what this place is?" The man raised a brow, not believing the words of the boy.

"Are you a spy?" The man asked the boy.

"What? No, my name is Art and I'm 13 years old." The boy replied, pointing a thumb to himself.

"Art huh?" The man rubbed his chin slightly, as he looked at the boy.

"Well a young lad like yourself shouldn't be out here alone, a Candy might trample you." The man said.

Art studied the man's features a bit. Thick brown eyebrows, short spiky brown hair with his sides trimmed, and a sharp jaw with a small stubble on his chin. He had a few crinkles near his eyes, an evident sign of his older age.

"What's a Candy?" Art asked, curious of what this creature might be after hearing what it could do.

The man just smiled and pointed behind his shoulder with a thumb, and Art got up, to get a better views as the large man was blocking his path. Not too far from where he was standing he saw a four legged creature of some sorts, purple in color, and a bit see through.

"That's a Candy?" Art watched it munch on some of the purple grass.

The man got up, placing his hand on Art's shoulder.

"Do not worry lad, that creature is harmless towards humans, it's quite rare to see a Candy out here, those are usually domesticated and treated as livestock."

Art looked at the Candy, smiling as he noticed his round droopy ears wiggle in response to his munching. Then he looked at the man beside him, who still had his hand placed on his shoulder.

"What's your name old man?" Art noticed a sheath clipped on to the man's pants.

"Are you a warrior!?" Art looked at the man with an excited look.

The man just chuckled. "Something like that."

He dropped his hand from Art's shoulder and placed in front of him, "I'm Doan and I assure you I'm not that old" Doan smiled, as Art shook his hand.

"So you mind telling me how you got here?" Doan asked, as he stopped shaking Art's hand and stood there in a lax manner. Hoping a man of his stature didn't intimidate the boy.

Art just looked up, scratching his head trying to think back, then he looked back at Doan, shaking his head unable to remember.

"No I don't remember anything." Art stated.

"Hmm? Must be amnesia." Doan said to himself.

"Who's Amnesia? Is she hot?" Art smiled, wondering who this girl was.

Doan stared blankly at Art then face palmed, sighing as he shook his head.

"No you idiot, Amnesia is not a girl. Amnesia is a condition related to memory loss." Doan explained.

"Memory loss?" Art frowned, realizing the last thing he could remember was being waken up by Doan.

Doan nodded. "It seems you're dealing with a heavy case of amnesia."

Art nodded "I guess you're right. I don't know anything on how I got to the land of Sweeten."

"Well what are we standing around here for? Let's go back to the village perhaps we can get you something to eat, maybe a place to rest." Doan suggested, turning around and walking off.

"Village? What are you talking about?" Art asked the man who hadn't heard his question due to the distance.

He turned his head back to look at the Candy who had finished its meal and noticed the young boy. It wiggled its ears happily and Art smiled back.

"Hey wait up!" Art ran after the older man.
